The Ricoh station would be a better concept if Cov station was bang in the city centre and thus near most of the city centre pubs, but it's a few minutes walk from the station to the main boozing area, and most people aren't going to traipse back to the station to catch the one-stop, one-carriage journey when 4/5 guys sharing a taxi can get to the Ricoh for £2 each which is less than the Cov-Ricoh train fare.

Whilst simultaneously committing to spend billions increasing London's commuter belt with HS2.
Not to mention Cross Rail (East-West) almost completed I think, and then the proposed
Cross Rail 2 (North-South) if you took London out of the equation, we would be a third
World Country.

Not necessarily, we just concentrate too much economic activity in London. The actual residents of London do not contribute much if any more per head than anywhere else in the country.

Whilst we have a parliament and media that is as London-centric as ours is, nothing will change.

Unless anyone's heard otherwise trains stop stopping at the station one hour before KO and recommence one hour after.

Station did seem to get more popular as the season went on last year so maybe this was scrapped (can't imagine people wanting to stand on a platform for a one carriage train to stop?)

Night games, it leaves the Ricoh at 9.30. got it back to Coventry a couple of times, missed the last 5 minutes . Never missed us win or even score

The franchise for that line was supposed to be sorted by the end of June. It's been delayed. I can't see how that line makes any money at all. There's rarely many on it.

It's one of the things we've been looking into along with dedicated buses etc. Our matches are not a major event anymore so the green travel plan and parking restrictions technically don't apply.

That would apply if you left at 8:30.

If only there was a pub right next to the station. More cracking work from the council there.
The Rocket was a shitehole, i shed no tears for it....not council's fault it's gone?

Wasn't it pulled down as part of the redevelopment for the new council house?
The Rocket? It had been closed for years due to being an insolvent dive!

Just checking train times does the 14:49 stop at the station on match days?

And is it still an hour after the game for the first train?
Does the 16:42 stop? Or do you have to wait for the 18:42?

Planning permission for the redevelopment was granted in 2010, the Rocket closed in 2014.
Bit would the redevelopment have required the Rocket to close or scare off its customers?

Last season I definitely saw train stopping and people getting off at around 14:50. Can't help on return trains

The Rocket has been a dive for years, I wouldn't be surprised to see a pub open in Friargate eventually, if it ever gets properly off the ground that is.

You have obviously never caught the 07:45 Nuneaton to Coventry service then Monday to Friday. It's standing room only.

No it is going to be the entrance to the station they have built a subway under the road from the stain carpark in central 6 to the station.
Not due to open until the redevelopment of the new carpark on the station side.

I went in there once at mid day on a week day, was empty but had a few games of pool. Wasn't too bad.
