Part of a couple of massive wins there against Arsenal and Liverpool!: Tony SheridanGeez, I can't even remember him ever playing for us.
a Centre Back - Stevie Munn was the other one!We had 3 irish lads at the time Gavin O'Toole Sheridan but cant remember the other lad, i used to go watch the reserves play and none of them stuck out, i wondered what the hype was about them and I certainly never seen any of the evidence that was in the video clip

No wonder he got frustrated under Phil Neal after picking Julian Darby ahead of him week after week.
He was brilliant the first version he was in, AM/FC! If you play as City, he's raw but pops up with winner after winner in key games first season (which is more than can be said for Ndlovu and Quinn) before blossoming into Ireland's best player after the end-season break. If you're not City, you sign him for whatever lower league club you're managing.Tony Sheridan was a Champ Man legend for me. My favourite player on the game for a year or two.

In my Stockport game (started start of Season 2, bottom division) he was out of contract at City and listed, and amazingly interested.

That's him after a season for me. Goes up to over 10m once he gets his Irish call up. Check out Last Season-I don't think I've ever had a player average as high as 9.47, before or since! Cantona regen came close with 9.42 at a 3rd tier WBA in CM96...
Abedola and Mick Harford joined him in that team. And the LB Paul Williams too!

Chris Jackson, there's another one! He was great for me as a kid for a Bristol City save.42 goals in 43 games. Classic Champ Man.
I always started off at Orient in, I think, 93/94. Trevor Putney could play across the whole of the midfield and even in his mid-30s he was awesome. I always signed a 16 year-old Chris Jackson from Barnsley for 6k, and he would be my top scorer every year until retirement. Sadly he was in a car crash in real life, and had to stop playing at 17 or 18 (again iirc - this was 25 years ago after all!).
ah brings it all back! You could also pick up a young Zlatan for a decent price also...He was brilliant the first version he was in, AM/FC! Still wheelchair bound and cared for by his parents:42 goals in 43 games. Classic Champ Man.

Heartbreak Described By Former Footballer After Career-Ending Accident « News « We Are Barnsley
Bet he was good at that!Tony was a mate of a mate from their early days in Ireland. He used to play heads and volleys with us on the concrete pitch at Walsgrave hospital where the MHU now stands
Lee Hurst was one hell of a prospect and Robson a Rolls Royce alongside him. Such a shame about their injuries, although we wouldn't have got Robson in the first place if he hadn't had a few already I suppose. He played in the famous 3-0 opening day win at Arsenal when Micky Quinn scored a hat trick and looked like he was going to be a hell of a player. Think he joined the same time as Willie Boland who wasn't half the player, but ended up having a lot longer career with us. We didn't have a lot of luck with our midfielders at that time as we had not long lost Lee Hurst to a career ending injury just as he was looking a top player, and in this same Arsenal game Stewart Robson got an injury which pretty much ended his career too.
He should have done on ability and potential! But his story shows what a fine line it is. Often you hear ex players talk about how the best, the very best, might not have been the most gifted as youngsters, but they worked at it more than anyone else. The bit in that article where Sheridan describes getting annoyed at abuse so flicking it up and smacking it in the top corner and saying "it's that easy" sums it up really, football was effortless for him. But you need to stay fit and work hard too to make it.used to watch him in the reserves as a kid. Had a bet with a mate of mine he would go on to win 100 caps for Ireland
A midfield reserve trio of Sheridan, Boland, Sandy Robertson. Notable mention for Martin booty at the back
There were some crackers in those early games. Made all the more memorable and a bit sad because most either didn't make it or ended up with mundane careers. Here's another tragic one, Jason Kaminsky:Some of the names I can remember signing in the days when champ manager was an easy play not like the last one I played

He was in my European cup winning City sideJustin Georcelin, now there was a bloke who's real life career didn't exactly mirror his Championship Manager one!
