Crawley 1 - 1 Carlisle
MK Dons 3 - 0 Doncaster
Stevenage 1 - 0 Brentford

On the whole none of the above has done us any harm tonight and it looks as though all the teams around us are having the odd wobble.
You never know if we could sort our home form out we still have every chance of a top 6 finish!
:p:):p:)

Doncaster are 12 points ahead of us and Brentford 8 points with a game in hand.

MK Dons and Crawley are both 3 points behind but with 2 games in hand.

we quite simply cant string a run of games together

AND, if a miricle happened and we some how got to the play offs, a full Ricoh would mean a heavy defeat in the semi final...

We need to consolidate and ride the off field issues just to get to next season with a club in tact

Yeah, but the trouble is we've been trying to sort our home form out all season, and not managed it. I don't see it turning around now to be honest. Obviously I'd be overjoyed to be proven wrong, but just a gut feeling. Just think it's too late in the day to expect any major change in it. Teams around us seem to be doing their best to help us out at the moment, but we just can't take full advantage of it.

I see Robins is up to his usual tricks, Huddersfield scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes of there match to win from behind

For me play offs are currently out of reach and I'm not really thinking about them at the moment.

We have 4 winnable games on paper next, if we get a decent haul out of them and claw some points back then that could give us an outside chance going into the final 6 games

Maybe if we get that new manager boost many teams get in the early weeks. It's a long shot though.

Give it a rest! How many times have we been in the top 6 this season? Let me answer that for you NONE.

Forget play offs you are sadly deluded if you think we are getting there. Let me break it down for you so you have facts to look at.

You need to look at what we will have at the END of the season. Not winning the next 2 games
So here are the end of season 6th place finishes in Leauge 1.

2008/2009 6th place was 76 points.
2009/2010 6th place was 80 points.
2010/2011 6th place was 71 points.
2011/2012 6th place was 73 points.

We are on 53 with only 10 games left. Which is 30 points left to play for.

So we need to aim for as many points as possible. As hitting the play off requires at least 70-80 points.

Not going to happen. Need to win nearly all our remaing games.

You are not allowed to say deluded on here. ;)

As I said, we could win the next 3 and still be 7 or 8 points behind. We are 9th, so have to overtake 3 teams. We need 3 teams to fail while we keep winning.

To say it is a long shot is an understatement!

While it is mathematically possible we do of course have to try and achieve 6th place, but I think they all now know within the club and coaching staff that we have already pretty much blown it.

We are 7 points behind. We could win 3 games in a row and still not be that close.

I understand that people are looking at it and thinking it is 7 points and that 3 wins will give us 9 points, but we have to achieve that in conjunction with other teams failing to pick up points.

36 games in now and we haven't been in the top 6 once.

Looking like 73 points could well be the minimum we need. Means we need to win 7 out of 10 more than likely to even be in with any chance.

7 out of 10 from a team that has only won 5 home games out of 18 matches all season.

Do believe that we have brought Pressley in (if true) to develop the youth and with an eye to next season and beyond.

There are still teams below us that can overtake us with games in hand, so it really, really is a tough, tough ask fro us to do anything this campaign.

We have had a number of must win games that we have lost and we have now lost 4 home games in a row.

Even if we win on Saturday we are still going to be incredibly nervous and lacking confidence come the the game the following week at home.

We need to keep plugging away for sure but the dream is all but over.

Next 2 home games key! Hartlepool and Colchester have won 2 of the worst away records in the league! A win Saturday and I'm sure our confidence levels ill have one up for these 2 games!!!

20 points from 10 games looks very doable

How does it? We have lost 4 in a row at home and have only won 5 in total at the Ricoh all season.

10 games left. If we win all 5 away games that will give us 15 points. That then means we would then need 5 points from home games. 5 draws or a win and 2 draws.

That doesn't sound to bad does it ..... if we win all 5 away games and if we we suddenly improve our home form..

And how many times have we said the next 1 or 2 home games are key?

Yeovil was a must win, we lost. Crewe was a must win, we lost. Swindon was a must win, we lost.

And unfortunately, even if we did get 20 points like you say, that still probably won't be enough.

I would say that Scunthopre, Hartlepool and Colchester could prove to be the toughest games we have coming up. These clubs are fighting for their lives and this is the stage of the season that they start playing out of their skins and picking up points.

Last 10 games for Hartlepool for instance, won 5, drawn 3, lost 2. That's excellent form.

So incredibly tough for us now I'm sorry to say and we also need help from other teams with them failing to boot.

The whole point of my short post was the fact that the teams around us are dropping points too. If we can find some consistancy (under new management) whos to say we cant make the top 6?
I dont agree that its ALL OVER and I genuinely believe if we can take 6 points from the next 2 games and teams around us keep failing to win we will be back on the shoulders of the top 6! ;) So there!

Have of course included the Crewe JPT tie in there.

3 league games + the JPT. Yeovil, Crewe (x2) and Swindon.

That is dreadful.

wouldnt read AS bad if it was a prem team in the cup, but it isnt.

How any team in ANY division can hope to go anywhere losing 4 on the bounce at home....

The sooner we do something about the ricoh the better, block the top 20 rows off, sell the advertising space and get everyone closer to the pitch

This season will be lower than average, that my friend, I guarantee.

One final push could see us get to the playoffs.

You honestly think it will be lower than 70 points?

Tranmere already have 60. Means they only need 10 points from 10 games to achieve that.

That's just 3 wins and a draw and 6 defeats from 10 games. That would be a very poor run of form, yet would still have them finishing on 70 points.

Has to be over 70 points this season surely?

The way this league has gone so far... You can't say for sure, but I think it'll be 70 give or take, 69-71 is about where I think it'll be.

If it were 70pts, we'd need 17 points, very doable. I think too many people fixate on points needed, but we'll see how it pans out. With a new manager, we may make it, he'll bring his own ideas in change tactics, change formation maybe? It might work, it might not.

I think it will be 74-75 points.

Last season Notts County were 6th after 36 games on 56 points and 6th finished the season on 73.
