Tonights game will see how good we are. (1 Viewer)

After Saturdays thrashing and conceding last minute at bradford tonights game is so important for us.

Having such a young side we now will find out how strong our team really is.

Turn it round tonight and win then I really think we have a side capable of grabbing a play off place however a defeat may be the start of a slump we may find difficult to get out of with such an inexperienced side.

This side relies on confidence so getting a good start tonight is critical . if we conceded early especially with another defensive error I feel confidence may be destroyed and another defeat.

Will stay positive though and go for a 3-1 win.

(oh and a crowd of 1200)

Good luck boys.

Agree, hopefully not too many out of game tonight, but heard Clarke is out.

Up in midlands today so going over to stand on hill for first time tonight, looking forward to it, fingers crossed for the lads tonight

We are good at going forward but poor in defence. This won't change until we strengthen our defence.

Fair play mate, wouldn't ever get me travelling to northampton on a cold tuesday night for a home game whether it be in or out the ground!

While you may be right ,I'm more inclined to agree with Pressley ,and feel that its based around the whole squad not doing what they have been ,IE; high energy ,high tempo pressing etc. I'd say that it Started against Wimbledon where we had a touch of good fortune .
I also reckon the Front two who have excellent stats should have more given the chances created . Wilson who creates an awful lot of his own and Leon's lacks composure on occasion ,understandable given age and experience, while Leon seems to have become unable to compete with a CB for headers. That was an aspect of his game early in his tenure that struggled and drew criticism yet as he's proved in certain games he has that string to his Bow.
Pressley himself in one of his CWR interviews stated that he sensed they were Flat after Fridays training . We've all wondered If this superhuman effort can last a whole season with such a small squad ,I worry that the energy these young players spend in each game may lead to burnout come Jan/Feb,add in the recent bans ,Cyrus being rushed back ahead of schedule,Webster and Clark playing with knocks and a little complacency creeping in and Saturday was maybe on the cards.Did you take any money for it,what were the odds on Tranmere?

agree, a win will prove in my mind we will be in promotion reckoning

but more importantly i wanna see us more solid defensively.

I just hope Pressley has concentrated on the defence. They need to tighten up more and give Spud Murphy some better cover. Otherwise, all our high-scoring is a waste of time, especially if we score 4 and the other teams score 5!

The defence needs strenghtening, we know that. A Win and we are back and track and looking forward to a big turnout Saturday, a defeat and it could be the start of a bad run.

-10points was a big slump this team got us out off and in some style too.

may i suggest that at this point in the season we have a bit more faith in our young team and not be too harsh on them. if at the end of the season we miss out on relegation on goal differance, from where we started i think that means the team has achieved, overall.

We have got off to a good start with a young team. A football season is a long slog and it's not even Christmas yet.

I felt one or two were getting carried away and over optimistic.

Let's hope there is not a knee jerk counter reaction. We have the nucleus of a promising team, this is their development year. There will be bad games. Survival is the objective. But a top half finish would be a great achievement.
