I dunno I think I’d like to go back and play there tricks back against them and do them over, plus it’s only a hour up the road and both legs will be good crowds and good atmosphere compared to thousands Exeter fans at the Ricoh and only 300 odd away tickets again

I disagree, though I do agree that can be a factor.

Bet if you look through the history books there are absolutely loads and loads of teams in all divisions, time and time again continuing their form until right to the very last.

The Man U thing is very valid too, because for clubs right at the top, not only are the players paid obscene amounts of money, but there are European Championships and World Cups their players are looking towards, where they don't wish to get injured, having already secured domestic success.

It might of course happen with Accrington to let up, none of us know, but I think there is much more more chance of them continuing right to the very last whistle of the season they way they have played for the last few months.

We’re getting very fortunate with other teams results. The three teams directly below us have won once in their last 15 games, if we don’t finish in the play offs from here it will be a huge failure on Robins’ and the teams behalf

We have to want Notts county in the play offs (should we get there). Loads of tickets and just down the road.

Totally agree, Exeter would be such a anticlimax as opposed to Notts County or Lincoln say. Those games would be a far greater crowd and atmosphere in both legs.

I would prefer a scenario of Wycombe blowing automatic promotion in the last game, leaving them demoralised and there for the taking in the playoffs, plus we always beat them in semi finals.

I have 0% confidence in this current side either making the play offs and if we do we all know what will happen in the play offs?!!

I’m sorry but this side is a good side but doesn’t have the balls to make this opportunity happen. Yes we’re had back luck but before we lost jones etc we were inconsistent.

We need another season in div 4 with al couple of stronger players to support the good ones we have already.

I feel for Robins as he’s been let down at times.

All these teams below us that have not won in 15 games could win every game from now till the end of the season (assuming they don't play each other).
Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

If we stayed for another season, it's not definite we would have a stronger squad - we may well lose some of our better players. In addition, as we have never been in a play off, how can we know how we will do? - if we had failed in the previous 5 attempts, then I might take your point, but there is no basis for it other than pessimism as far as I can see.

Exactly what was said to me and a couple of others when we said how important it was that the teams now below us were on a bad run. Swindon were supposed to be feared. Mansfield were supposed to pull it together. But we all know how hard it is once you are on a bad run. Players lose confidence. Supporters lose confidence and get on the players backs. This makes it even worse for the players. They will look at us above them with a game in hand and think it is all over.

If we win on Saturday and they don't it will be about over. I am more concerned about Carlisle than them two. We finally have it in our own hands with those chasing us not knowing where their next win will come from.

In order of preference would be like: has nothing to do with the clubs playing ability. Unfair advantage for Exeter to have only 350 away fans at their place.

1) Wycombe, big away allocation, local ground, we have the wood over them recently.
2) Notts Clunty. Big away allocation.
3) Lincoln.

Wont be the same watching on TV as it is live.

Glad our game in hand is late in April. This is huge psychological advantage imho. Good planning when re arranging the fixture. Should be a very good crowd atmosphere and hopefully decent weather.

Hopefully it will be all but irrelevant.

We beat Crawley and Stevenage, it is possible we could be a number of points clear and a draw would do us just fine.

Hope your right. But I doubt it will be irrelevant. I think it’s going down to the wire. Hopefully play offs will and should be done and dusted by The Morecambe fixture. But will be plenty on it in terms jockeying for play off positions.

Just thinking in terms of us winning the next two and Swindon and Mansfield picking up two draws max. Under that scenario we would be 5 points clear and with a game in hand over both.

A draw then against Lincoln in that game in hand would mean we would be 6 points clear.

So, in today's first matchup at 1pm, we have Chesterfield v Mansfield in a big local rivalry.

Chesterfield obviously need the points in order to try and beat the drop and Mansfield, in order to try and break into the play-off places.

Last 6 game form, Chesterfield sit 20th and Mansfield, rock bottom. Chesterfield having achieved a win, 2 draws and 3 defeats from their 6 and Mansfield, 2 draws and 4 defeats.

In those 6 games, Chesterfield have scored 8 and shipped in 10 and Mansfield have scored 6 and let in 11.

Over the last 12 meetings between the 2 sides, Mansfield have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 8.

In their last home game Chesterfield beat Notts County 3-1.

More of the same today would be nice.

If it's Lincoln away, just don't park in that awful car park field. With an even bigger crowd will be stuck there for hours

Fingers crossed Chesterfield spank them, Mansfield fall away even more. With them playing at 1PM we can go into our game 2 games in hand and still above them on points, that would be massive.

It would indeed and the manager and players will clearly be aware if Mansfield drop points.

74 points should be enough for play offs. Given they have 70 already, I can't see them getting less than 4 points from their remaining games.

Just having looked at Mansfield's remaining fixtures their game today is a huge one. If we had their fixtures many of our fans would be predicting maximum points. Yes they are on a bad run, but a win today could give them an upturn in confidence going into those remaining games, so hopefully Chesterfield do us all a favour and beat them

Chesterfield really need totbe looking for that win. Arch rivals and not dropped out of the league in well over 100 years.

They are five points from safety. Would expect them to be really up for this today and for them to go for Mansfield's throat.

Perfect day today will be a City win coupled with both Swindon and Mansfield dropping points.

Chesterfield v Mansfield really is a massive game for both sides seasons. Defeat for either is damaging.

I’d like chesterfield to survive, just in case we’re L2 next year again, nice easy away trip

C'mon Chesterfield. Your league future is at risk. Snatch a draw at least!
