Only Sunderland defender I'd be ok with would be you know who - and we couldn't afford his current wages lol.

Not a priority position. Can't see us spending money on a CB unless it's someone Championship or above.

Don't know a lot about the player, but like people have said before he hasn't impressed me when I've seen him play. With Drysdale signing a new contract hopefully he'll be in and around the first team as backup.

Been pretty unimpressed with him whenever I've seen him. Potential squad player? Not sure
I disagree, I think he’s okay and I suspect would be cover for MacFadzeen, Sunderland have only conceded two more league goals than us, we are the lowest on 30 and Sunderland have played two games more.
Funny whenever we get linked with players the “he’s shite” merchants come out to play, I’m sure the same was said about MacFadzean this time last year.

Not for me.

He wouldn't displace any of our current starting 3 or Pask imo. So 5th choice at best & that would surely hamper the development of Williams & Drysdale?

If we're bringing in a CB they'd have to be to at least the level of our current starters.

If we're after a defender that was up there last year I think Baily Wright on loan from Bristol City would be a good option.

He played really badly in the 5-4 at the SoL. One of the highlights of the Netflix romcom was his reaction to being abused in the streets by Sunderland fans after that game.

He had a decent enough game at St Andrews defensively but missed a shocking Chance with a free header that should have equalised for them.

All bets are off if he does sign for us but I really would be surprised if we are interested in those showings.

In a thread full of negativity, I was impressed by him at St Andrews. Runs for cover...

No not at all negative- it is beyond me why we'd rule out signing a player purely because they are in a team that underperformed last year (especially a basket case club like Sunderland where there are all kinds of reasons they did badly), if the rule is now that we can only sign players from teams above us then we may as well fold now, we won't be able to get anyone.

Take it as a great sign- 12 mths ago Sunderland were seen as a much better place to be if you wanted to climb through the leagues, now we are the ones potentially taking their players as its us on the up.

I'm happy to accept that there is every chance I am wrong. I'm just not that impressed with him from what I have seen so far.

I’ll be honest though, never heard of him but it’s funny nicking players off Sunderland. Also for the bloke above. Some people have curly hair naturally.

Tom Flanagan is dreadful, would rather sign Jon Flanagan on a free instead.
