Cov have had a run of games from the bottom of table. They have won ugly, and extremely ugly at that. They have rode their luck over the last few games. Getting 7 points from 9 sure is great, but TBH I would have EXPECTED 6 of those points, and they weren't exactly convincing.

Cov now have a run of games with sides in or around the playoff area. Play like they have been, and they will be lucky to get a point!

Sure you can praise Baker et al all you want, but please don't be fooled into thinking this is a promotion chasing side - they most definitely aren't.

They have won inspite of performances not because of them, and luck will not stay with city forever.

And be in under no illusion, the results over the last 3 games have been both lucky and decidedly ugly. I'd say it was a 12 pinter in terms of ugliness

Maybe Robins is moving the team forward, but in terms of performance, we are no further forward than we were under Shaw!

I'll take the win, but will I go to a live match with them playing like this - no thanks. Sorry I want to enjoy watching a game of football, especially when forking out £50 for the privilege!

And as for the crowd being over 10k - not even close ! If it was 8k I'd be surprised!

Playing like this is just not going to bring back the crowds

On the Crowds, I think there was certainly 10500 there. Remember there was 750 Bournemouth fans.

Yes it may have been ugly, but performances will hopefully develop as Robins implements his ideas. In terms of pretty football; simply put, we're in League One. Exciting, attractive football is rare at this level because it doesn't really get you out of this division. Look at Norwich and Southampton, both got to where they are with lone, physical front men (Lambert and Holt) and once they left the division began to develop exciting more developed tactics.

Definitely more positives than negatives to take away from the last 3 games.

Robins has said it isn't going to be a quick change. Just give it time. First half was dire but we played some lovely stuff second half. The way things are going, I've no reason to think that it won't continue to get better.
Just enjoy what was a nice goal and a win!

So psgm1, I'm struggling to work this out. Did you go today? Or the last few games?

Edit: Doesn't matter, another thread suggests you did.

JPT win would be a good season and mid table would be a result in my view...least its a day out at Wembley and no problems getting tickets

We won got 7/9 points, we're on a decent run, long may it continue!

At the end of the game, we have got 3 points and it don't really matter how we got them!

What part of the league table collates the ugly and pretty points ?

I`m sure West Ham fans and Bolton fans in the past hated Big Sam when they we were winning promotion and doing well in the PL :jerkit:

If you listen to Robbins, you get the feeling he will put things right - he says what is wrong, and what they are doing about it.

You'd have to be three pencils short of a colouring set to not understand that this process will take time.

At least we are picking up points as we set off on the journey......

the first half is still itched in my mind, good first ten minutes but after the offside goal, it was bloody awful stuff, worse than sunday pub team standard, professional footballers should be ashamed to produce that, specially in front of witnesses

we still have a long long way to go, I have a bad feeling about Swindon, I have predicted the last two games right, incase you think i'm all doom and gloom! I hope for the best, biggest test for Robins so far...

Do some expect a new manager to take a poor playing losing team to a great to watch winning team within a week of taking over?

I see it as an improvement where we are now. MK Dons would be in 3rd if they beat us and 1 point off 2nd. So a draw wasn't a bad result. We are now getting results in games we would have lost with Shaw in charge. Now we have caught up with the teams above us with points we will move up the table for each win we get from now. We are in 20th, 3 points from 13th, 7 points from 8th and 9 points from being in the top 6. If we had got points from all the games Shaw was in charge things would be looking very different.

Let's play ugly and grind out the wins. Let Robins keep changing the way we play. He isn't a mesiah that some would love, but we are letting less goals in now. Keep a clean sheet and we only need to score once :)

Mark Robins has a long way to go yet. Despite many saying this should be a squad of players challenging at the top i have never thought that. We have a group of poor players a number of whom are struggling to achieve division 1 standard, remember we were bottom three almost all of last season, relegated and were definitely one of the 3 worst teams in the Championship, we have since got rid of our best players from that squad, brought in 9 players , one of whom has been booted out, not good enough. We also have a severe fitness problem, just what we were doing pre-season i don't know. Performances at the moment don't matter, just getting points on the board anyway we can.

I suspect if Robins had a totally free hand in other words money to replace players come the transfer window a dozen of this present first team squad would be gone, most of the summer signings and atleast half a dozen others, unfortunately he is saddled with them so any result and point is a bonus.

Rode our luck? What the clear stonewall pen for handball on Tuesday we didn't get, or the wicked deflection for their goal?

Which the ref, no doubt aware of his mistake, soon equalised up by ignoring Murphy's 'stonewalling' one of the 2 Dons strikers closing down on an empty goal. Not to say that 2-0 might not have changed the game.

We have got to be happy with 3 unbeaten but I agree performances need to improve as it won't cut vs Swindon

Draw or win and optimism will increase ten fold amongst fans and players

Yep, we had luck too, but if that pen had been given when we were well on top it could have been a quite different result.
