Somewhere between the waitress and her table.
This time in 2012 Wilson was a skinny kid who got knocked off the ball pretty easily. He came back in August looking like a man - he'd obviously spent a long time bulking up during the Summer. Look at him now - I wouldn't be surprised to see him mentioned in an England squad sometime within the next 2 years.

Madison has all the skills but if he really wants to follow in Wilson's footsteps he needs to do the same. If he does, we may get an entire season from him operating at a new level next year.

We need to get him in the gym for this Sunday.

Give him 3 tones of Whey Protein.

Some kids take time to grow and expand. Take Connor Wickham for example, he was a skinny kid whilst at Ipswich, he's now a beast! It takes time and effort which we'll no doubt see once he progresses into his early 20's.

You would think somebody who is paid to be fit would be massive if they wanted to be.

Get him on the weights!

Shouldn't be rushed "bulk out". The lad is 18 still developing and has already had back problems. Strength isn't necessarily about being bigger

I mean, a lot of the Spanish, Argentine and Brazilians needed bulking up...

He's not much smaller than that Grealish lad at AV
He hasn't bulked up yet he was man of the match In Villas semi
You don't have to be massive to be good
I'd like to see him play the same role as that kid

Maybe he just doesn't look very strong because he falls over when the wind blows his way?

If his core were stronger he'd have fewer back problems.

Agreed. However that doesn't necessarily mean he has to bulk up significantly to do it. Significant extra bulk could actually put further strain on his back or other areas. He will naturally add body mass over time as his body finishes developing

I meant for him to become stronger not fat! :). He will add body mass as he gets older, agreed - but he'll only become strong if he gets into the gym. It made all the difference in the world for Wilson.

His back problem was an undiagnosed fracture not a muscular problem!

He is only 18 and we need to let him develop naturally. Yes he can do some weights, but sometimes over bulking means you lose flexibility, agility and speed.

if we try and rush him, and expect too much too soon we run the risk of destroying him. He is a bench player at the moment and there is nothing wrong with that.

I have been bulking out since the age of 18 and I now have my own gravitational field.

Completely agree with OSB and Hobo (and others). He's only young and will bulk up in his own time. Personally I don't think he needs to bulk up too much (look at Messi, Silva, mata). We shouldn't be comparing him to Wilson, Wilson is all about pace and power, Maddison is all about finding pockets of space and using his technique.

The fitness coach at Man Utd was on talk sport a couple of months ago, talking about Ronaldo, and they asked him about bulking up and he said you can't rush it otherwise it leads to more injuries, loss of pace, etc, and that each player fills out naturally in their own time. We have to let Maddison fill out in his own time.

Michael Owen was a small young thing when he scored a goal against Argentina in the World Cup.
