Coventry City have confirmed travel and car parking plans for their ‘home’ matches at Sixfields Stadium this season – as well as matchday ticket prices.
Matchday tickets at the Northampton venue range from £13 to £18 for adults, from £9 to £13 for concessions, and, for Junior Sky Blue members, from free for under-sevens to £5. The prices have been cut from last season as the club try to win over fans following the move out of Coventry.
More than 15,000 Sky Blues supporters have signed our City Must Stay petition and 7,000 packed into Broadgate in a protest march organised by the Sky Blue Trust in opposition to Sisu’s plan to play home games in Northampton for up to five years while a new stadium is built near Coventry.
Thousands of fans are expected to snub Sunday's opening 'home' game against Bristol City in favour of watching a City Legends charity match at the Ricoh Arena.
On Monday, the club revealed 400 season tickets had been sold for Sixfields. Around 5,700 were sold at the Ricoh Arena last summer.
The club are organising coach travel from White Street car park in Coventry city centre for £7.50 per person.
Car parking at Sixfields is £4 and £2 for season ticket holders.
Dan Walker, the club’s ticketing manager, said: “For both car parking and coach travel we have kept prices as low as we possibly can because we want to make it as easy and affordable as we can for our supporters who are travelling to Northampton.
“We reduced season ticket prices dramatically to account for the fact that fans would be incurring additional travel costs and matchday ticket prices are also reduced significantly compared to last season.”
