There was a pricing structure at Sixfields which remained consistent so there were no promotions as such.
yeah so they danced around the issue which is pricing structure is a bit steep in many fans minds.
The Sixfields tickets were reduced to compensate for the extra traveling costs.
Oh well at least we have a ready made excuse for the impending poor attendances, should be at least 25k Exeter game though....

Pricing structures should be competitive to the market they are in.
It's ok people saying they think £15 is about right for league one game but if no team charges that it clearly is not right.
Why not? Are they in our situation? Are they offering the same product? Are they all well priced?
By your logic no budget option would ever exist in any market.
Surely we're offering a better product? A "world class" Premier League stadium and a side that looks like it's got promotion credentials?

Seems like you have a problem comprehending the entertainment industry and football in particular.
Other league one teams aren't competing for CCFC fans money and as such our pricing strategy shouldn't be looking at them. We're competing against other forms of entertainment both online and locally.
A better question is what are local attractions offering family entertainment (if that's the segment you're going for, separate analysis required for the single male/old man segments) offering? How do we compare with the zoo or the cinema or bowling?

If that was the case, most games in this league would be dirt cheap for prices with the grounds in this league.
i mentioned on another thread. CCFC missed a trick this season in terms of getting fans back. Should have stuck to the season ticket prices and match prices from sixfields as a goodwill gesture for the past 16 months hell. If they could afford to subsidise sixfields then a ricoh with 20k in at £14 would be more feasible than a ricoh of 10k at prices of £22.

yea whilst failing to acknowledge they will be playing burnley for between 19-26 pound , coventry dont cat games , so the pricing is an average , which is too high
I was playing devils advocate, but as I said earlier on his Sixfields prices were cheap to subsidise the extra traveling costs of a 70 mile round trip. We wouldn't be getting 20k at £14 a pop, we averaged less than 11k in our last league one season at the Ricoh.

I do work in marketing but you don't need a GCSE in marketing to work out that you will get additional revenue at certain price points. Charging what we do will give a competitive revenue on average crowds. Lowering prices will not significantly attract higher crowds on a continued basis . It never has.

But we do do 'being a mate for a tenner' or 'kids for a quid' 4-5 times a season which then brings the average down. We also usually price JPT and FA cup ties pretty cheaply.

Not sure we've got a good enough sample to say that for sure. Most ticket offers tend to be on games that have low attendances anyway. But I take your point, halving the price wouldn't double the gate. I do think that there's some scope to be smarter about it though. This City is pretty economically deprived.
