Grendel: People like MMM and others have stopped defending AT because they've moved on. I'll tek a wild guess and say they're busy thinking about other stuff having the equipment to develop an idea.
Even Dougal in Father Ted has more going on.

Wrong again. MMM even gave up his pre-nuptials to have another go at defending his best man.

I am a senior manager in a large organisation. In any normal company of that standing thorn would not have lasted 5 minutes. I don't know him. He could be a good man or a terrible one. Irrelevant. He was not for for purpose was taking money under false pretences and should have been bulletid in October last year. At the very least after Southampton last year he should have been told to find the train home and never return. In twenty years time when people talk about this period no one will ever be able to explain how such a clueless individual was manager of quite a reasonably sized football club.

Wrong-they'll be scratching their heads as to why we got rid of someone who would go on to lead England to 4 consecutive World Cups.

A bit unfair - even the useless twat Thorn managed the occasional point.

Love it how now "Goldie" is one of his signings. So he signs players before he joined us (Fox and Dann) and now he signs players after he left!

Who actually says Thorny was signing Goldie? Was it the same bloke who said Alex Nimeley was going to be joining a Premier League Club and the same bloke who said Malaga was being chased by another Premier League Club? (or is it the same Premier League Club).

Don you may not have noticed but most of your friends who supported the useless fool are now conspicious by their silence on the subject.

Give it up. Even MMM and NLHWC have gone silent on the matter - and that says it all.

Sorry Grendal I just pay attention to what goes on with the sky blues in the news.....

Coventry City have reportedly make an enquiry for Nottingham Forest striker David McGoldrick.

It is understood that the 24-year-old is keen to secure a move away from the City Ground after a period of time on the sidelines.

According to Sky Sports News, Coventry boss Andy Thorn has identified the powerful forward as the player to improve his attacking options.

McGoldrick failed to score a single goal for Forest last season.

Were you not one of those who extracted the Michael about McGoldrick's scoring record, before he signed saying typical AT talent spotting?

That last bit is a presumption my behalf and apologies if it is not correct however I know quite a few people did and assume you would if it is a chance to have e a pop at AT

I would suggest a fairer assessment can be made after the next 3 games. Results are better but definitely not performances. Still cannot even play a full 45 yet alone full 90.

If still around same ratio of wins mid November then you can say something is happening.

3 lucky wins against very poor sides and a draw against a reasonable league 1 team could simply be good luck and could have happened to anyone. Hell even AT had 1 spell like this!

Sadly cov fans are so starved of success they clutch at the flimsiest of straws.

crowds of 10k are exceptional in this league so don't expect 20k crowds in this league. 10k is top three in league 1

I see some will not let the AT thing drop. Have you reached the 21st century yet or do you still look back to the last one?

Whilst on the same matter, how about everyone that was saying anyone could do better than AT, and Shaw should be given the chance, to say how right they were now. Easy innit. Easy to forget the bits where you were wrong more like.

We now have a new manager. He seems to be much better than AT. Time will tell. Or are some always going to live in the past unless they were wrong and have selective memories? It is about time we pulled together and got behind our team and manager. Boo boys kicked into touch. Or would some prefer we stayed where we are so some can say for years to come'told you so'

The most poignant response on this totally pointless thread.

Well said, lets move on shall we.

People will always talk about historical events on a forum site. Ex players and managers are frequently mentioned. Therefore there is inevitability.

It was also inevitable those who saw the shortcomings would be proved correct.

However this is not the main point. The debate has tended to disappear until one or two people on here decide to ressurect the issue with usual pro-thorn nonsense

It will always provoke an answer from some of us as some of us are still genuinely annoyed at having 18 wasted months and the club at its lowest ebb.

Some people still jump up and down about the terrible reign of Thatcher and look how long ago that was.

At the end of the day we all have to admit that Thorn wasn't the best man for the job. He also wasn't the worst. He tried to play attractive football and did his best with absolutely shit resources.

It now transpires that his approach of being the players' best mate wasn't getting the best out of them this season; but it may have worked to an extent last season with a squad of children.

Anyone with a brain knows that SISU relegated us last season. They ripped our squad apart. But for Thorn's scouting ability things could have been even worse - squad wise. He's not a 'fat twat' who ruined our club - he's someone who tried his best in a joke of a situation due to wanker owners.

Let's just be thankful we've got Robins, who appears to be a better motivator and tactician, and that these SISU idiots have decided to do their job as owners - and let's move on.

Like the OP in this thread?

Do a little bit of research over the last couple of weeks. Pull out all those examples of the pro thorn comments that initiated a debate. Pretty sure you will see an attack against Thorn, mainly from yourself somewhere moments before it.......
