I am completely baffled as to how anyone can defend AT after todays result.

On a side note, and with no chairman, does Fisher actually have the authority to sack a manager? Who else is on the board with him and Clarky Bunter?

If you had posted in bold text rather than italics I would have understood the emphasis more.

10minutes left for the rest of today will Thorn be gone? Probably not...

Will the board just make their mind up! They are sacking him today, then the Stevenage game, and according to some the end of the season!

Have the board said they are considering Thorn's position? I think not - someone's mate who had a curry while talking to a CCFC steward's brother-in-law who'd bummed a cab driver that gave a lift there earlier to a geeza from Dennis Drive mentioned to the waiter that AT was seething tonight - that's what started it all.

Dont you mean after 18 months of management in which he's managed to rack up a win ratio between 21-22%. Including a considerable number of games where we've lost from being infront.. today being the last straw for me

John Clarke, onye, fisher and someone else are on board. The board or presumably the owners could make a decision

Because there is 43 games left.

Not defending Thorn here, just saying why people can defend him.

And I equally baffled as to after an unbeaten run that stretches less than one tenth of the season as to why you think he needs 'defending'?!?

Unbeaten run - how many won and how many points would that get us in a season.

When did we last win a game in the league?

Didn't Einstein say repeating the same routine over and over again and expecting a different result is proper madness?

I think we should change the routine - although saying that, changing the manager doesn't seem to have helped much either.

We support CCFC we all must be chicken oriental.

As I said on another post.........

For me I am dissapointed with today.

It hurts to be two up and controlling a game then draw.

I think he is still here as we are 4 competitive games into a season in which we have won one and drew three.

We are undefeated.

I do think we are a bit rusty.

I do want continuity and I do think it is too early for rash decisions.

However if there are many more situations like this where you are in so much control of a game to then concede two goals even I will have to accept that merry go round of inconsistency will carry on for cov

This season is a different story, last season he was in a win-win situation, I don't feel the need to explain why. This season however, it's HIS team, we SHOULD be pushing top 2 with our squad (imo), and to some extent, the board have 'backed' him, so this season is do or die, no excuses.

Do I think he is the man to lead us to the Championship? I'm skeptical BUT, do I think he should be given more than 3 games to prove me wrong? Of course.

Worryingly, we have not won a league game since last March! Okay, so there was the summer break, but since that last win against Hull on March 31st, we have taken just 5 points in the league - All DRAWS! That's nine games with just 8 goals. I always sat on the fence where Thorn was concerned, still waiting to see if he can work some magic, but I'm getting really pissed off at the lack of results!
DRAWS JUST AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH!!

When the same things (losing leads) happen this season with his team does it not make you wonder what if for last season if we didnt drop so many leads?

Of course, but people do use that argument a bit too cheaply, every team loses leads, don't get me wrong we dropped way too much, especially in the last 10, which raised concerns of fitness, but losing leads is part and parcel of football, it happens.

... I'm not saying it is acceptable, because it isn't!

I'm personally more concerned with our record when we fall behind, it was poor under CC, AB and now AT.

I'm far more concerned with the trend of losing leads actually.

Because where has sacking gaffers got us? He's had HIS team a matter of weeks. Yes I'm as frustrated as everyone. But thorn getting the bullet isn't the answer. I think this team, with thorn is more than good enough to compete for top 6. Anyone believing we should walk into auto promotion are crazy. If we played the game we had today after 10-15 games we would have been 4-0 up at HT. it's early doors and players are still getting the sharpness. But pulling the trigger 3 games in is typical Coventry and pathetic. Sacking managers and rebuilding is why we're here.

Is thorn a bad manager or is it just his refusal to stop using a formation that doesn't work???

Sacking gaffers has got us Sir Andrew Thorn
He can't string a sentence together let alone win a game of football
Go Andrew, buy a pub, a chippy, live your dreams
Don't buy a dog cos you can't hold a lead

His formation worked well enough to get them the lead in both of the last two games...in my view, it's the players losing concentration once they do get a lead. The way the dominated the first half against Bury, they should have been able to come back after the interval with a great deal of confidence, play the same way they did in the first half, and come away with an easy win. Instead, they let Bury back into the game! That is all on the players, not the coaching staff...I doubt that Thorn told them during the interview to ease off the gas pedal and coast to the finish line!!!

Well he told them to be cautious whereas he should've told them to fo for more goals. We dominated and we were at home ffs

Part of me agrees with you, there is no point getting shot of AT based on the last 3 games. BUT .. you can't say that this season isn't following the same patter as last season, that has to be worrying. I'm moving, slowly to the Thorn out camp, I hope he can prove us wrong.

Another day, another Thorn to be sacked day. Still here, a bit like the Apocalypse. That keeps getting predicted and never happening.

Maybe he will be sacked on 21.12.2012? Maybe THAT'S what the Mayans were on about.

What annoys me is the fact all these fans and where talking around 6,000 at the end of the 2010,2011 season wanted thorn as manager, and they said IF he doesnt get the manager role i want come, renew etc.... Now the hardcore are left with a manager who has got us relegated (partly to blame for that), has lost over 40 points from winning positions (very much to blame for that) and has now been apart in driving away the not so hardcore fans (again thats a 50/50 one). If Fisher wan'ts some more fans to turn up get rid of Thorn, I think a new manager in the management team would probably be the best way forward. Some one on Twitter said he was also on a month release cause if he got sacked, so no big pay day like Coleman and Boothroyd! I have a feeling though that Fisher is giving him 10 games (which could be too late).......

The supporter issue is the main point actually.

Thorn is supposed to be a popular manager but crowds look likely to be down by 25% this year and there was a similar decline last year.

One suspects a lot of these so called supporters who rate him do so from home.

He is not engaging fans and clearly has not given anyone confidence we will have a successful season.

Can't be bothered and not got time to read through this thread, but AT won't be given the boot yet. Also, how can anyone say that Carsley or Shaw should take over? They have less experience than AT and are supposed to be helping out by sorting our defensive play.
