PREMIER STARLET IMPRESSES WITH EXTRA TRAINING SHIFT
ANDY Thorn has praised Manchester United prospect Reece Brown for his whole-hearted commitment to the Sky Blues cause.

The England Under-20 defender switched from centre-half to rightback against Sheffield United on Tuesday when injury ruled out Jordan Clarke rehearsing his new role by staying on after regular training for a one-to-one coaching session with Richard Shaw.
“He was totally professional about it,“ said Thorn; “we asked him to do a different job and he wanted to make sure that he was as well prepared as possible. “When you get loan players coming from clubs like United you wonder if they think that it's going to be easy at this level but he soon found out that wasn't true and he's been brilliant.
“He's always asking questions, he wants to learn, he wants to do more. I sometimes think I'm going to have a heart attack when he slips into champagne mode but he's going to be a great asset for us this season and I think we can help him become an exceptional player.“
Thorn is also delighted with the progress of Kevin Malaga who made his competitive debut for City when he replaced Brown at the centre of defence against the Blades. “Kevin looked really good,“ said Thorn; “he attacks the ball well and he's a threat in the opposition box as well with any luck he could have had two goals the other night.
“We've been teaching him and William Edjenguele how to play in our game because where they come from they tend to sit deep and we don't want that.
“They've been doing a lot of work with Shawsy and in the last couple of pre-season friendlies I had Kevin and William sitting in the stands, seeing the style of centre-back play we want, because sometimes you can learn more by watching than by training. “I'm very pleased with the way they are developing and we've got some competition for places now which is want you want because that keeps everybody on their toes.“

has thorn really just said that we dont want to sit deep, after when we go 1-0 up thats all we do and go and conceed a goal :/

Have to give praise to reece Brown, he's had quite alot of stick already off the city fans. He's playing out of position and is willing to learn, fair play to him he doesn't have to do extra training.
Hope city fans don't get on his back today first little mistake

Might sound thick but what's "Champagne mode"???

Basically feeling like a man United player, like he's too good so plays a bit too relaxed and careless. I'm not getting on his back, but km glad Thorn has noticed this as he could be a liability at times.
