He's a square peg that fits in a round hole at the moment.Looked a pretty round peg in the last 2 league games to me.
Having said that, I'd love another LW option so there's no risk of Haji going wider if EMC misses games
Are we still talking about football? He's a square peg that fits in a round hole at the moment.
Doing a job but a bit wobbly and not something you'd want to have in there permanently.
BTA is an OK option but definitely has a poor first touch and his vision is frustrating especially choosing to run in to 3 players then wondering how he got dispossessed... But it is what it is he's a limited player that will do an ok job for us.
Agreed, I feel like Saka gives the ball away less but could probably be more direct at times rather than passing back but he seemed to be mixing it up a bit more this year.Things Frank and his team will work on. Saka isn't flawless.
Cov fans are fickle.. Assante was crap, because he was playing with backup players. Wright comes in,supported by Rudi and Torp and he is a superstar. Are people on here really that thick? Assante has been superb, in the last 2 league games.
Yes, because they all played with better playersAsante was pants against Milwall. Haji, JDS, Rudoni and Torp all looked class when they came on. BTA was on longer so did not have the advantage of playing against a tiring opposition. However, Millwall are the type of team that did not give us and time on the ball and were tackling fiercely. BTA looked as if he could not hold them off.

While I disagree with your opinion on Simms, I do agree with your comments on BTA, hes been excellent in the league games, yes he can often frustrate, but hes given 100% scored 2 goals, got an assist and its fair to say we've not missed Sakamoto at all.Cov fans are fickle.. So you say BTA was superb in his last 2 games. Everyone agrees with this. He is undroppable as things stand even though Saka is back.Cov fans are fickle.. What were your thoughts of BTA last season where he constantly made the wrong decisions and the supporters behind the goal...and even the corner flag sometimes were in more danger than the goal itself? Hopefully the coaching staff have had a big effect on the way he plays.
I would say any players form in the last two games is more relevant than last seasons form.
Fine, but don't include the Millwall game as being one of the last 2 games if you want to big up BTA's recent form!
He deserves to keep his place at the moment, but he will have to continue his league form much beyond 2 games if he is likely to stay ahead of Saka in the long term.
Manager didn't show that? I thought he looked pretty annoyed that none of the fringe players gave him anything to think about at all. Can’t count league cup performances. If the manager shows he doesn’t give a shit about the game you can’t expect players to.
Making 8 changes to a winning team doesn't exactly scream "we're desperate to win this"Manager didn't show that? I thought he looked pretty annoyed that none of the fringe players gave him anything to think about at all.

It's an opportunity for those on the fringes to play themselves into contention isn't it? You can still be annoyed at the performance. If you pick a reserve team and make pre planned subs at HT you’re telling your players the result doesn’t matter.

All Championship clubs play a second string in this competition.
They don't prioritise the game but I doubt they wish to lose. I think most will have the same thought about seeing if anyone can play themselves in.Yeah but BTA isn’t on the fringes.
I’m sure all championship do, that just means none of them give a shit about the game.

BTA did perk up a bit when some of the better players came on tbf to him.
No managers use it how you say though so they must be on to something.Players just aren’t going to give their all for a reserve game at the end of the day and rightly so. It’s a hodge podge team usually with hodge podge tactics you’ll never play again. Personally I’d use it as early season gelling an smash these teams then take a few off. But if you want to treat them like an extra friendly you can’t really judge player performances in them either way.

I don't fully agree on the final sentence either so probably best to leave that
Hopefully 3 points today!
But we’ll always have Swansea away from last seasonAsante is a shit footballer his decision making most of the time is shocking.
I wonder why Rudoni went for the ‘easy option’There was a moment in the second half where BTA had made a great run and was in decent space onside and was screaming at Rudoni to play the pass and Rudoni went for the easy option instead and BTA did not look happy!
I wonder why Rudoni went for the ‘easy option’
More daggers for Lampard, then!I get that you probably think he didn’t have faith in BTA. However, I don’t think that’s what was going through Rudoni’s head while he was absolutely blowing out of his arse.
