The guy is more effective than Simms IMO. Gives 110% every game and was chasing the ball down in the 95th minute. Unless we have a better alternative he starts.
Personally I’d rather start with Simms and then bring BTA on around 60 mins when players are starting to tire and he can then run round like he does and chase down loose balls and stuff

I think once teams tend to tire they sit further back! So I can’t see BTA being effective trying to break open a defence when they have 11 men behind the ballPersonally I’d rather start with Simms and then bring BTA on around 60 mins when players are starting to tire and he can then run round like he does and chase down loose balls and stuff

Simms has a very limited football brain. All the athletic attributes you need, but got nothing to tell him what to do with it at the right times.BTA brings the energy but has a limited football brain. Simms has a better football brain but often looks like he isn't putting a shift in both can do great things both can be frustrating.
I'm with you on BTA hasn't got a football brain how many times does he run into people with the ball instead of looking to go where the space is,he is better when he doesn't have to think to much he can strike a football so is better at being in and around the box and striking it first time.Simms just looks uninterested all the time and can't time a header plus struggles to run with the ball at his feet also has no aggression. So none are what we need to get promoted.BTA brings the energy but has a limited football brain. This is absolute bollocks and harsh.Simms has a very limited football brain. All the athletic attributes you need, but got nothing to tell him what to do with it at the right times.

Simms can actually read the game and knows where to be but needs to increase his aggression and run a bit more. I'll concede on the mistimed headers it's odd it's like he always expects to get clattered from behind so doesn't go for it. Id say as backup players when we are trying to get to the playoffs they are fine.I'm with you on BTA hasn't got a football brain how many times does he run into people with the ball instead of looking to go where the space is,he is better when he doesn't have to think to much he can strike a football so is better at being in and around the box and striking it first time.Simms just looks uninterested all the time and can't time a header plus struggles to run with the ball at his feet also has no aggression. So none are what we need to get promoted.
I think BTA is ahead of Saka in the pecking order at the moment. Saka tends to drift out wide more and looks to cross more versus looking for his own shot. BTA plays more centrally and in the final third. Whether Saka scores the 2 goals BTA did in the last 2 games is up for debate. BTA is stronger while Saka is more skillful. Not as technically gifted as sakamoto , but we look for more direct with him in the team .
When saka comes back in the team he simply has to attack the box much more .
2 goals 2 assists so far for BTA

Yes I noticed that also. I liked that the front 3 rotated with each other throughout the game in a way Sakamoto can’t because a centre forward he is definitely not.Made one incredible defensive run today where he tracked back across the pitch and made a block when the defence made an arse of things.
Has his limitations but he attitude cant be faulted
It's true. This is absolute bollocks and harsh.
Good coaching I think a lot of our players have improved massively since Lampard came in.Have to say that I'm finally starting to warm to him. His effort has never been in doubt but more recently he seems to be looking up more instead of running into blind alleys.
Be interesting after the break when Saka is back if he gets straight back in.
If Sakamoto was fully fit for next weekend, I’d start BTA ahead of him 100%
Why waste a Saturday on a game most clubs won't take seriously for a few rounds yet.I’m sure there’s something I’ve not thought about but why isn’t this round next Saturday? No one plays their first team anyway internationals will have minimum impact.
