It's fine to enjoy it still though, nobody is gonna stop you. Can be fun watching football at any level especially if you are invested.
I enjoyed watching Cov be competitive in League 1 & 2 in recent years but that is mostly because I support Cov. Watching players like McNulty and Biamou look like world beaters but it in reality that was just their level.
And look at their European performance this season. Last season was like Bradford’s run to the League Cup final.
I watched Motherwell v Rangers on repeat the other day when I couldn’t be arsed to find the tv remote. It was shite. Barnsley v Wednesday was higher quality.

No one is claiming it's a super league with a huge talent pond, but to call it a pub league is frankly obserd.
It’s an average league with two really big clubs, if they came to the English leagues in time they would have success as they have great support and the extra finance would allow them to build.
To be clear, its a way below average league with 2 pretty big name clubs in it. The 'if they came to English league' argument is irrelevant as it'll never happen. The reality is that it's poor and pretty much gets worse every year.

The SPL really has declined, even if Rangers had the money they (thought) they had 20-30 years ago they would never attract the calibre of player they did back then. Can you imagine somebody of Brian Laudrup's ilk playing in Scotland these days?
I actually think it's a terrible shame what a state its in and like a lot of football, the blame sits squarely with the way the Authorities have packaged and sold TV rights for different tournaments.
