No idea, I'm sure Byng was trying to claim last week they didn't have the finance to do the deal and approached him or something.

Also has it been signed? Has any money yet exchanged hands?

Two unusual spectators at the BC game, Ray Ranson & Premier League Chief Richard Scudamore!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting thread.

Surely they wouldn't have gone so public until it was signed and sealed?

Well the cost I believe is 19million or thereabouts, in 2015 the naming rights are up so the stadium owners I am sure will negotiate a better deal with someone. Got 10mill. ten years ago and with Wasp games being on Sky I would expect Wasps to do a lot better than 10 million. If they got double in a way they will have got the stadium for nowt !

Maybe they should just go for a five YR deal for Starters ,given the nomadic nature of the beast.

I wouldn't be surprised if we find out they've already done a naming rights deal with JLR and had some sort of advance to fund the purchase. Timing of their partnership with JLR seems to suggest there's more to it than just being shirt sponsor.

..and I speculate that their involvement is what swung it with the council, you don't piss on the plans of your biggest local employers* do you.

* Yeah, OK I know the biggest local employer is probably CCC or the NHS, but anyone with 1/2 a brain would infer that I am talking about private industry including secondary employment in the supply chain.
