Took a moment to reflect following the statement yesterday that we are almost back in the championship, these last few years have been what football is all about, up's down's, promotions relegations, shock wins and crushing defeats; travelling near and far in numbers making memories and travelling near and far in not so many numbers but still making memories.

From watching Sterry, McBean and Wright draw in a 1st round cup tie away at Morecombe, getting beat by a club who only eat vegetables and being humbled by Worcester. All the way through to Mowbray's 6 month galactico's, 2 Wembley wins, Nolan's Notts County and now Mark Robins' 2 Tone Tika Taka box midfield PPG champions.

In the time we've been away from the Championship teams like Sheff Wed, Birmingham, Forest, Reading and Derby have fluttered away the years with the distant hope of a play off run, In August, or whenever it may be, we will be back as equals with these, at least in footballing in terms.

It's been emotional, it's been what football should be about. Forget Northampton, forget St Andrews, W*sps, SISU, CCC, Snowflake, the Telegraph, Fisher, Lucas and co. Remember Robins, Kelly, Hyam and Babayoko....

Brilliant... love this..and 100% spot on. Stirring stuff

But this speech does need a background track that builds to a crescendo. Any suggestions anyone?

You are so right. I remember so many times asking myself why do I put myself through this? struggling year after year in the premiership, I can't ever being so miserable as I was during the season we were relegated from the championship. Elation watching us win at Villa Park, winning the FA Cup. This season ahs been a ride, no matter what happens. And then you realise why we go to football, it's to get away from the Mrs and to avoid housework, gardening and DIY. PUSB!

I don’t think I’ve ever been angrier after a game than this. Christ!!!!
