There’s is zero chance the majority of people surveyed said they’d prefer less annual leaveWe were forced to take today off as not a lot of our customers would be in for our waste collections. It come out of our annual leave, so now down to 22 days. The same happened last year (can’t remember what date for, but this time of year) and management said results from a staff survey said staff were happy for it to happen again. Yeah, the office staff who get 5 more days to use than us said they were happy with it.
It isn't helped by having the Grim Reaper of TV shows and professional Lancastrian Paddy McGuinness doing the voiceover! The On The Beach tv advert drives me up the fucking wall. The fat family are off on their holidays and claim to have 'free' airport lounge access. It's the arrogant smirk on all their faces but particularly on the chubby boys chops that does my head in. Greedy fat little shit....
Advert totally puts me off using the company

He was amusing for 1 video and now he's rocketed into stardom and I just dont get itThat Steve Bracknall football manager parody bloke. The first couple of clips I seen were slightly amusing because anyone that has played Sunday league will have seen somebody similar at some point. But now, he just annoys the shit out of me! Its getting boring. Hes almost taken over that FarleyTV guy as the most annoying/least funny person on the Internet atm.

All week I've been dealing with people who have decided to work from home because of non-existent snow. I do a job that can 100% be done from home but even if there's 6ft of snow overnight we'll be expected in the office tomorrow.Decided to work from home today, on account of the bad weather.

I used to work permanently from home, which was probably a bit much but my office was 3-4 hours away.Just tell your boss or get on Indeed for a Hybrid job!
Sorry mate, you don't get a lunch break??I used to work permanently from home, which was probably a bit much but my office was 3-4 hours away.
Big mistake moving to permanently in the office. You don't realise how much life admin you get done in your lunch hour at home (don't get a lunch break at all in the office) and how much commuting eats into your day. Lose about 15 hours a week so your evenings and / or weekends just end up being filled with all the boring life shit you have to do before you're back in the car for the Monday morning commute.

It's a get in early, don't take a break, finish late kinda place.Sorry mate, you don't get a lunch break??
I fucking hate this shit, you all deserve to be treated like human beings, not robots. I know it's a bastard to fight back against work culture but what would actually happen if you did take your breaks or stuck to your agreed hours? It's a get in early, don't take a break, finish late kinda place.
Get a new job. It's a get in early, don't take a break, finish late kinda place.
Unions aren't perfect but collectively standing up against shite treatment like this is one thing they certainly help with.I fucking hate this shit, you all deserve to be treated like human beings, not robots. You have my full sympathy. I was gradually shunted into that kind of environment after the company was taken over. It's a get in early, don't take a break, finish late kinda place.
technically yes, in reality no. They don't pay us for an hour in the middle of the daySorry mate, you don't get a lunch break??
All that would happen is you'd have an hours more work to do at the end of the day. One guy who started here finished on time every day and got dragged into a meeting to be given a bollocking for not being a team player.I know it's a bastard to fight back against work culture but what would actually happen if you did take your breaks or stuck to your agreed hours?
You will not be surprised to hear there's a policy of not paying overtime or giving TOIL as 'its already factored in'.Make a point of having your lunch break and working only your hours unless they pay over time.
I've worked long enough to have worked at pretty much every type of business. The difference in how the workforce is treated at SMEs compared to larger companies is very noticeable. Not a coincidence that those companies don't tend to have union representation.Unions aren't perfect but collectively standing up against shite treatment like this is one thing they certainly help with.

Sounds like a horrible and genuinely hostile place to work and I hope you find a way out soon. Can't stand this kind of horseshittechnically yes, in reality no. They don't pay us for an hour in the middle of the day
