Don't worry, he'll let himself in.Builders Part 2: Locksmiths.
So having given up on my last builders - see previous posts - I’ve noticed that they’ve managed to lose my back door key. The only one I have.
I’ve phoned a locksmith today who said he’d be here before 2pm…I’ve got to be elsewhere at 4pm. Guess what…
Reg, if I don’t laugh I’ll cry! My day yesterday was getting me flinching!Had similar years ago with a deadlock, managed to get a thin hacksaw blade through the gap, took forever but cut through and then could unscrew and replace the lock.
Sorry Terry, I found the "...guess what" bit funny as always happens when I wait for a tradesman.
Since when did doing basic stuff cost so much?
Pret A Manger unveils £13 salads as office lunch battle heats up
The chain says the new range is "priced competitively within the market for this type of lunchtime offer".www.bbc.co.uk
Maybe some liability on there part? It's effectively give them money so they can get a better van to make loads of money. Surely if they wanted to do that they should do a crowd funded investment to get a return?
It's weird that the Telegraph promote it as well.

Thanks for the offer Daz but I’m in Cardiff. If your stuck for a reliable builder who isn't retired I can recommend one
Been evaluated on a cost basis in a study recently and the people who ran it had worked out that it was •0034567 more cost effective doing it your way for parking spaces, can't remember why unfortunately, but I have had this debate with my daughter and find her habits dogmatic,me I just pick the one that is not oversubscribed and go through one to get to the next and it definitely work's for me!People who won’t reverse on to their drive on any road, let alone a busy one. Meaning they have to reverse on to the road when leaving. Stupid stupid stupid. Same as people who don’t reverse park in car park bays. Fucking stupid.

Why would you reverse into a car park bay? A lot of people don't like doing it.
I reverse on to my drive and even then getting out is like Russian roulette.People who won’t reverse on to their drive on any road, let alone a busy one. When something the size of a small is parked up like modern X5 is pretty dauntingI reverse on to my drive and even then getting out is like Russian roulette.
More often than not I have cars parked on the street overhanging my drive on both sides as there's not actually enough room to park on the street but they do it anyway. Along with someone parked right in front of me on the other side of the road.
Have to try and avoid hitting all of them while inching out of my drive with zero visibility while parents on the school run zoom down the road at way over the speed limit.

Fair few places to Reverse Parking Only policies to everybody has to reverse park. It works.
Reverse parking into a bay is basic, if people struggle with it then they probably shouldn't be allowed on the road.
I literally cannot put into words how unsafe it is to forwards park in a bay.
I have never seen that! Tbh I think it is more of a habit than a preference thing. I would argue that the people who prefer to reverse park have some kind of parking sensor or the camera. Older cars don't and therefore people feel more comfortable to park forwards.
Really? If you back out slowly, whilst checking for hazards then surely it's safe.

Parking sensors are still quite a new thing though? Surely people can reverse park into a bay without them? Didn't have them on my XR3i.
It's much safer which is why some car parks only allow reverse parking.
One could argue you shouldn’t be in charge of a car you didn’t know the size of if you should need sensors/cameras.
My only problem on reverse parking at shops is when you are reversed parked up against another car and getting your boot open to put shopping in lol
