Managed to get a car insurance monthly decrease of around £10-15 for when I renew. Paying £70 p/m currently.

Everything’s coming up Milhouse!

I won't tell you how exactly much I pay as it will make you sad or angry but then I am nearly 62, living in Central Scotland, driving a 14 year old volvo but you pay more in 3 months than I do per year.

Hello actually the Americanism here. British version was Hallo:

what are the origins of hi, hey, hello?

What are the origins of hi, hey and hello? Are they related?
english.stackexchange.com

Hey originates from Middle English and is a couple of hundred years older

It's an annoyance, i'm not interested in facts.

According to that though, hey wasn't used in Middle English as a greeting - c.1200, variously, in Middle English, hei, hai, ai, he, heh, expressing challenge, rebuttal, anger, derision, sorrow, or concern; also a shout of encouragement to hunting dogs.

I just like poking language police. Unless it’s important things like stopping the spread of the word “addicting”.

To be clear, this is specifically about “hey” as a greeting.

British gas

Changed my address to next door, cancelled my account, gave me back money in credit, then refused to change my address back, then say I owe them £400, and have objected to me leaving a closed account

Steer clear of Sweden; it’s their greeting and goodbye. (Hej rather than hey, I believe.)

I’m in Sweden at the moment and kinda like hej. Although it is pretty embarrassing that seemingly all Swedish people speak perfect English and all the English, American and Canadian people here for the hockey can’t even manage a thank you in Swedish

Absolutely, and I think I made a similar comment on a different thread; Scandinavians in general have a better level of English grammar and comprehension than a lot of native speakers do.

I learnt all of the Swedish I know from Wallander and The Bridge (plus some Dansk), which isn’t much at all really. Just pleasantries and swearing.

Ecstasy comedowns at 56.
Cracking rave night at the Empire on Saturday.
Just about back to normal.
I used to go into work, bright as a button after a night caning it back in the day.

I hope you’re not suffering too much.

Who was playing down there?

Fuck knows!
It was mostly decent techno.
Loved having a pill though. First time in ages that I've been to a club where nearly everyone was on one, rather than cunts on sniff.

I miss those days. I didn’t know such nights still existed.
What were the ages like in there? A good mixture?

It was 'Foreverland'. Google it.
Definitely older types reliving their misspent youth.
Plenty of early twenties, all the way up to mid fifties.
Best thing for me, it appeared to be mostly pills/MDMA. Not so much ket or coke.
Lots of dancing, no edge.
