Vardy starts, but Kane is on the bench.

Fucking start them both!

Don't rate Vardy at all. Regardless of who he plays for, he is not good enough for international football where teams play a more tentative possession based game

I tend to agree. He's more of a counter attacking player. We'll have the ball more often than not in the world cup so he'll be redundant. A bit like tonight tbh.

Not quite post of the day.

Vardy never turned up tonight, doesnt suit the formation but could be worth throwing on at the end when we need to chase the game. Rashford was unplayable in the first half

I rate him in fairness but he wasn't good tonight.

Barely got a pass to him though to be honest.

I'd play the two of them behind Kane. Drop Lingard.

Agree.

MY XI would be:

Pickford
Walker
Trippier
Stones
Cahill
Rose
Dier
Henderson
Alli
Rashford
Kane

Lingard and Vardy to come on later in the game. I was dead set on Vardy too but have changed my mind slightly. Still don't want Sterling near the team but I accept I may be in the minority with that viewpoint.

I don't like him either to be honest.

Can we just play Doyle instead? (Ignore the fact he is Irish).

The midfield is so weak in the centre really.

I can't see a decent solution.

I'd be tempted by Loftus-Cheek instead of one of Dier and Henderson, really like him. He wasn't spectacular yesterday but I've not seen too many players keep hold of the ball better.

I was impressed with him too and he looked a beast, don't remember him being that imposing previously.

He should start based on this season. Saw him play for Chelsea in the Champions League a few years ago and he looked like a young Zidane. As you said his dribbling is a cut above everyone else in the squad. When he gets going the only way to stop him is with a foul.

A lot being made of the racism issue, Spartak been banned again so likely to be issues. I would love to see what stance they take on this and hope they come down hard on anyone in the ground. I wonder if some nations will walk during games if it gets too bad?? A lot of African nations and plenty of black players in our team alone, just hope it doesn't overshadow the tournament.

If a couple of teams from Germany, France, Brazil, us etc walked off the pitch that would send a huge statement. If it does happen hopefully they’ll lose the Euros in 2020.

I think if a player walked off on his own they would get suspended etc but if teams walked off hopefully this would make the difference unless the team is 3 down then do it!

I've got France to win and a few quid on Cavani, Milik and Lukaku E/W for top scorers

You can get Muller at 30-1 and Wener at around 14-1. Going to go Muller EW and Werner straight.

That Müller EW almost feels like printing money, 5 goals in each of the last 2 world cups

Getting 0 in six games at the last Euros put me off Muller this time, they're saying he's gone off the boil a bit. That will pretty much confirm him as golden boot now though probably.

The way Lewandowski is scoring, I'm hoping we don't come up against Poland.

I'd play Sterling in non games. Panama and Tunisia, then get rid. Rashford by far a better option. Can't believe that is a minority view. Sterling is pants.
