Currently making my way slowly through Vikings.
It's good though not as good as it was hyped up to be by some of my mates but there's always a chance of that when you're late getting into a show.
Another binge watchable program that's not been mentioned is love/hate.
About a drug gang in Ireland.
I rate it highly, Peter Coonan is fantastic in it

how far are you into vikings? there is a point where it picks up pace rapidly every episode and it never stops. i have enjoyed last few seasons more than the earlier ones

Into the current series though not totally up to date.
Don't get me wrong, I really like it but some people have hyped it up to be better than I think it is but that's just my personal opinion. .
Ivar is a great character.

Seen cardboard gangsters. John Connor is his name, he's a traveller in real life and a big advocate of travellers rights.
Not sen the 'Nidge' film.
Might want to add some spoiler alerts to your posts Daz in case anyone is thinking of watching this. You'll have me thinking your Otis's multi if you keep posting endings!!

Just finished binging Sopranos in our lunch breaks, took a couple of months. With apologies to vow and other fans, can't see how it was so popular. Thought most of the cast were good actors - likeable, funny, and serious as required. And there were some excellent dramatic and comedy moments - but these were peppered into the odd episode. The rest of the time it was like you'd have to watch a few episodes hoping for something to happen that actually mattered?

We stuck with it and watched all 6 series, to give it a fair crack of the whip and
finish???
. But ultimately, found a lot of the plot lines confusing, ridiculous, or they just ended with no explanation and no real purpose to why they were even were even included.

Was really disappointed there were obvious chances to develop certain plots, relationships, or tie up lose ends, that ultimately didn't happen. We were often commenting "What was the point of that happening, that could have been a great story". Or "Remember X happening? That just seems to have been forgotten".

Even more annoying, you'd have some real strong or fun characters who would either be written out lamely or bumped off suddenly. "WTF? Why kill him off, and WHY like that? Surely XYZ needs to have happened first?" Lost track of new faces who were just getting going and pow!

Guess its down to personal taste as I really wanted to enjoy this, as so many people have gasped "you've never seen the Sopranos???" I feel like its me, am I missing something?

You’re a wrong ‘un The ending is excellent as well and tried to present a certain event differently to other TV shows, saying that it took me a while to appreciate it.

The show overall is far superior to Breakin Bad, The Wire etc etc

Ah fanabla!

You watched it on your lunch break ffs. No wonder you couldn't get into it and were confused if you were slobbering over your packed lunch while Jeremy from accounts talked to you about Brexit.

I've got 3 more episodes of the final season of the Sopranos to watch. I watch it via Kodi, so not always available. The only parts I fast forward are when Tony is yakking to that bint in the psychiatrist office. Boring as fook! I know it's supposed to show the 'human' side of a tough Mafia Don, but really? Would John Gotti or any top mobster spend hours talking about their private lives and problems to a shrink? Anyway, apart from that, it's up there with Breaking Bad as my all-time top viewing!

It doesn’t show his human side at all, if you watched it properly you’d realise it shows him as the true sociopath that he is. As we start and end the Sopranos through the eyes of Tony we are More sympathetic to him and blind to his sociopathic tendencies even when they’re right in front of us. For me this is why it’s so good and far superior to Breaking Bad. Okay, BB also does this but not to the same extent and as clever.

There have been instances of mob bosses seeing shrinks. Frank Costello being one. When Tony starts seeing Dr Melfi he's not even a boss. Another reason he goes is because he's in love with her.

It's a very complicated relationship and one of the major reasons for the therapy scenes are to show the viewer what Tony is really thinking and what motivates him rather than just see him acting macho with the mobsters and the family man with his wife and kids.

Skipping those parts was very lazy on your part but sums up the average attention span of the Netflix generation.

The shrink sessions are a huge part of Tonys real thoughts and another angle into his character!

Ffs HH, bet you didn't fast forward the Bada Bing scenes?!

Paulie was great. I loved everything about his character which apparently wasn't too disimilar to his actual real life before becoming an actor. His relationship with Chris was brilliant.

I liked the story with Vito as well. Left you feeling really sorry for him.

It's the tip of the iceberg.

People can't even sit through a 30 minute tv show now without checking their fucking phones every five minutes or those cunts that tweet as they watch.

watching the last episode of the Widow on catch up last night, spoiler coming up for those who intend watching it, my missus is on her phone as one of the main characters shoots himself in the head, she looks up from her phone and says, " who do you think did that?". FFS woman.

I did it a few years ago. Got to meet Vito before we left, he ripped us off for signing two photos, and you go around loads of sites and to the Bada Bing, which was quite surreal watching lap dancers with my missus, but very well done and the guide was an extra in the show so gave some personal insight.

They show clips whilst you’re on the coach to link it all together and it is really well done. Think it only runs once a week on a Saturday so definitely book in advance.

I made it a rule since day one with my girlfriend that if we're watching something our phones have to be put away. These things have to be nipped in the bud early on or these skirts get ideas above their stations.

I’m going in July. On their Independence Day. Considered dressing up as a British redcoat. But I shall seriously consider that coach trip.
