Anyone going this week?

A few of us have a couple of tables booked for Friday at 2pm.

Got to admit I’m definitely more excited than a man in his 40’s probably should be.

Leaving it till the weekend. Three Horseshoes will probably be the boozer, as that's the watering hole before matches when we were at the Ricoh, but used it often anyway. Love the place !

Fair play fellas but I'm going to wait until it warms up a bit

COVID-19: Snow, sleet and freezing temperatures to hit UK as pub beer gardens reopen in England

Pub-goers will need to wrap up warm, with low temperatures forecast as outdoor hospitality reopens in England.

If anyone was in this queue, you should be ashamed who goes to the pub at midnight on a Sunday to sit outside?

Going to leave it until May 17th.

It was snowing yesterday and less than 5 degrees. Doesn't sound appealing to me...

Not going to bother for the time being, the gym on the other hand, I'll be making a visit this afternoon, if it's rammed, I'm just turning round and leaving.

Where's the social distancing, or the masks. Why are the pub allowing this to happen instead of having a booking system?

It's this kind of stupidity that will cause another wave. If people have got the time and money to go out drinking on a Sunday night it's their choice, but this looks like madness to me.

I blame you lot for not teaching people how to act responsibly during a pandemic in school.

No rules being broken. Crack on.
Rule breaking then I’d agree but how long are we going to be judging people for getting on with life?

Also you had to book.

Edit: Turns out you didn't have to book. Bit daft really.

My issue is it's the Oak they're queuing for, bet they haven't cleaned the lines the entire time they've been shut

There is a woman on a local facebook group that seems to blame all social issues on teaching and schools, I was being a bit tongue in cheek in relation to her attitude. 'Schools need to do more'. Knowing that my wife needs to look out for potential terrorists, abusive parents etc while trying to deliver an education it winds me up a bit.

Booked in at 1, day off tomorrow to nurse the hangover and swear I'm never going to drink again. Back out again with work on Friday and friends again Saturday.

The pub is what I've really missed. It's not even the booze it's the socialising.

You’re not allowed to say that you have to pretend the booze isn’t there.

You can get on with life without needing to behave quite like this. Where's the social distancing, where are the masks, and why is there such a huge queue if the pub have managed it properly through bookings?

It's completely unnecessary and calling it out as a bit stupid isn't being a killjoy.

If enough people and businesses behave like it's all over, then it won't really be all over for a much longer period.

I'd like to get back to a more normal life too, who wouldn't.

The Wheatsheaf has a couple of tables out the front the last time I went in there. And Fred was behind the bar serving, so they'll be open then I bet. And the Three Horseshoes, and the Cherry Tree, so all that's missing is the football.

I was in a queue outside for Tesco last week and didn’t have a mask on until just before I went in.

I get where you are coming from though. I bet the photos look worse than it was. And no rules have been broken. I assume, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough if rules have been broken. It will be inside pubs in a month as well, what then?

Living in a village I am really happy for the pub owners who had been in only a year or so before Covid but they have stuck it out and opened a cafe this morning - they are hard working people and obeyed all the rules to keep people being sociable and not going out of their minds

Fair enough mate, and I didn't mean to pile into a row with you about it.

But I saw the pictures last night and my heart sunk. It does feel to me like The Oak are being very lax in their approach, which I suspect is typical of the management of the place (imho). There's really no need for these kind of scenes if it's properly organised.

I've no objection to drinking, I only object to to the hangovers! I'm off for my first pint in a long time tomorrow, though it will be just the one sadly. Need to drive later. Bah.

There's many a time when it felt like the football was the only thing spoiling an otherwise perfectly enjoyable session.
