I like the fact they try to get it as near to kick off as possible

The song was inspired by lyrics written on a toilet door in the Colly.

This explanation sums it up:

The chorus, "We'll live and die in these towns, don't let it drag you down now," reflects a determination to persevere despite the limitations and drawbacks of their environment. It serves as a rallying cry to not allow the negativity and hardships of their circumstances to weigh them down.

It's as Coventry as it gets.

But, isn't Coventry a City? We have infact been a city since 1345. So not really as Coventry as it gets. Most of the people in surrounding 'Towns' support the Villa, Baggies, Lester etc.
I don't live in a town, I live in a City.

'Large and important'.... but you call us a Town if you want, just so you can sing a silly song.

I always thought that the difference was it had to have a cathedral to be a city.

A city is a type of town. Is Brad Collins not a footballer because he’s a goalkeeper?

That used to be required for city status. But it’s just a town with city status. Now it’s entirely up to govt I think.

TBF I’ve always avoided Tile Hill when I lived in Cov for obvious reasons.

I used to think this but clearly it's not true. You might struggle to find Southend cathedral and even some long established cities like Cambridge don't have cathedral.

I always thought the population of town was made up primarily by inbreeding, or is that a village?

(it takes great effort to argue this because I hate Canley, but still)

I always thought Canley were the superior because we got priority going through the Wolfe Rd bridge.

Tbf I know a few people in Canley who always used to mock me through school for supporting Cov, wearing their fake Man Utd and Liverpool shirts.

Those tramps are now on the CCFC bandwagon and tbh I pity them. Cov’s biggest fans though apparently.

Agree. Would be great to have a real anthem (pusb tends never to get finished these days). Hair stands on end when Hibs sing Sunshine on Leigh. Something like that would be amazing.

Coventry is one of the oldest cities in the country but people still say they are going into town when they go for a beer

Same.

So many bandwagon fans. Not an issue, as long as they stay more than this honeymoon period.

We're having our growth period later than others who built crowds during the late 00s and 2010s while we were going through the mess.

Do like to see a more crowded arena, but often feels bittersweet to remember how it was in L1/2…

Their cup final rendition would be hard to beat as a club anthem - spine tingling indeed, though I'm not sure the sun ever shines on Leigh.

So, we live in a town? Is that what your saying?
I tell the Mrs she's beautiful, doesn't necessarily make it true, just fits the narrative - a bit like that shitty song.
