So we lose narrowly to Scunny fighting for their lives as our recent confidence gets the better of us and we are beaten at high flying Norwich and Mowbray's Boro' grab a 1-0 over us plus Reading grab promotion on the last day with victory at the Ricoh.
Would you then change your mind about AT getting the job?
I like the way he's got the players motivated and playing good attacking football. It had gotten unbearable to watch that rubbish before hand. For entertainment value AT is on the right tracks. As for points and table, were basically safe and picked up some good points that have got the fans happy and hopeful. I think AT is aware of the lads becoming over confident and knows how to manager them
it depends how the team performed, if it was passing football, plenty of shots but couldnt get enough goals then I'd still want him, if it was fugly football and hardly any shots on target then no
Its hard to tell what to make of it were we to lose the next 4 games. Is it a test of AT or a test of the players comitment and desire to play to the end of the season or a mix of both?.
I think I would be more worried if that was the first 4 games results at the start of the season. Wonder how AT would cope with that?
Think you would have to give AT a bit of leeway given the run he just had. Not entirely convinced AT should get the job but certainly you would have to think he was pretty close to first choice (if not first)
I can't say how I would feel but I really pray that it doesn't materialise like this. After so many poor end of season 'run ins' it would be nice to sign off for once on a positive note. In fact I'm not too fussed about winning but staying unbeaten (and playing nicely) would be a massive bonus to head into the summer with.

I'd stick with him even if we lost all 4. We will really miss McSheffrey as he's superb in the hole, but I said 4 weeks ago that I had a feeling we were gonna stick 5 past Scun thorpe, and as I think they'll crack (even after recent good results) it could still happen! Before Thorn, we were going down. I think a lot of people have almost forgotten quite how abject we were.
We've already averted our bad end-of-season run: this time last season we'd already gone 5 without a win.
Thorn inspires faith. (and Hymms/prayers etc, see other threads!) That's for a very tangiable reason: he clearly has a gameplan and very astute managerial/motivational skills. It's not something you can teach: it's entirely natural, he's just being himself and backing his judgement. He's a positive, infectious, charismatic character who so happens to know football inside-out.
We hear him speak, and think "yeah, that's hit the nail bang on the head". He does it in every interview. Look at the players around him and what they say in interviews-they think the same thing. As Gouldy says, he's one of the shrewdest football minds about. There's nothing lucky about anything Thorns achieved: he's come into a nightmare situation and turned water into wine. He knows exactly what he's doing, and I don't need to see any more. These players look twice, maybe three times as good as they did before-and most are getting better each time they play. That's the Thorn effect.
Most new managers have a "honeymoon " period . Boothroyd started well but was found out when other teams worked out how to stop hoofballmania . Maybe AT will get sussed out , maybe like Boothroyd there is no plan B , maybe there is , who knows ?
I agree with most, it would be more about how we played and whether we scored (or looked like scoring). This season there has been nothing worse that getting beat and actually never look like scoring, it was soul destroying. At least now we score goals, even if we lose. Personally cannot see us losing all games but some tough games ahead.
