Slept well, I was mentally prepared for failure this time. As I've said before, no point in being upset over events out of your control.

Next season will be better. 🤞🏻

not sure if I could manage losing in the final again, so this morning doesn’t feel to bad, still gutted, but said a while ago the injuries would catch up with us, dovin and torp would of been the difference in those 2 games, they were gone but we didn’t have anything on the bench to go and win it, some effort though

Sunderland set up perfectly. We’ve known for weeks that’s how to beat us. Got to give them some credit.

I thought last night was a lot more open, but their concentration levels was incredible. We couldn’t have pulled that off

They didn’t set up perfectly at all. They lost in 90m and one set piece went their way before the lottery of penalties.

MVE giving a back pass in the first leg isn’t something either manager can legislate for.

Sunderland defended v well and deserve all the credit in the world for that. They had some reasonably threatening moments but over the tie, we were the better team.

Im not having any of this give Sunderland respect malarkey, they set up to not lose in both ties because they were shit scared of what we can do. 1 luck goal form a tired shit passback from MvE, 1 goal from defence mis-communication, 1 goal from a last action set-piece.
We played them off the park for 120 minutes and if they came to play football we’d have carved them open and they know that, they set up correctly for a team expecting to lose which if the team that finished 4th on 76pts does against us means we are a good side and have a lot to be excited for next season

nah, lots of other nights we score 3 or 4

They were far too defensive and almost paid for it.

Fk Sunderland and fk the ~Blunts. Two awful entitled fanbases who both already think they're promoted. It will be enjoyable to see the disappointment on one of them at the end. I can't stand Wilder, but think I hate O'Nien more. On balance I'd rather Sunderland went up I think just so I dont have to travel up there again. Tbf it's probably a derby v Newcastle that belongs in the Prem, but I hope the Geordies smash em!

There’s a sizeable minority of the Sunderland fanbase that are genuinely abhorrent.

They are wankers. I feel like i'm kind of over last night whereas i wasn't over the Luton game for fucking ages. The only thing i'm hating is them feeling like they've got one over on us or the notion that they 'did a job on us' in the way of some sort of tactical masterclass instead of being forced back and just being lucky cunts. Everyone knows i hate the Blunts too but i hope they pound Sunderland into dust.

That was given as a foul by Kitching anyway if its the one i'm thinking of.

Actually looking at the timings that’s not the one. This was 39 mins apparently and the header was in injury time IIRC. Maybe the one he got to it just ahead of the keeper?

I still can't believe how poor Sunderland were and how defensively they set up over the two legs. It worked don't get me wrong and congratulations but I really hope they get absolutely battered at Wembley against a team that will take the chances that we inexplicably couldn't. I would have preferred a team came out and absolutely destroyed us to get to the final rather than smash and grab using park the bus tactics. So yeah I think it's going to take me a good few days to get over this one.
I think it might pay you to start researching some football history.

start with Helenio Herrera and Catenaccio football (winning European Cups and Italian league titles) then move on to Mourinho's masterclass in knocking out Barcelona when at Inter - Throwback to 2010 - Barcelona & Inter XIs when Mourinho knocked Guardiola out of UCL - and perhaps finish off with Greece winning the 2004 Euros. That's to start with.

Let's be absolutely crystal clear what has just happened here.

Sunderland deliberately setup defensively - which is our choice and is a perfectly legitimate football tactic. We then gave you the ball and invited you to break us down and score. We told you that if you give us the ball we will try and catch you on the break.

In the first game you had 75% possession, scored one goal and lost;
In the second game you had 75% possession, scored one goal, and drew

Rather than focussing in on Sunderland perhaps you'd like to ask some questions of your manager and also your players.

We clearly caught you out in the first game but come on - you knew what was likely to happen in the second leg and our French manager out thought your English manager - not the first time that a continental has bamboozled the English at football.

We will likely setup exactly the same way in the final. the question most people will ask Sheffield United is; "can you do any better than coventry?". We are about too see.

But lets not have any of this "Sunderland were lucky" rubbish. As I say football is littered with defensive tactics overcoming the opposition and you've just watched 2 of them.

Perfect game plan from Le Bris.

What aload of shit.
This is deliberately to get bites and I've bitten.

We gifted U the win at the CBS because of Milan's poor back pass and U got the most jammiest of a goal at the SOL, your defender didn't even know which part of his body it came off from, so dont start saying it was a masterclass as it fucking wasn't, so far from it. U c**t.

We are lead to believe that luck evens itself up over a season, but in my eyes it hasn’t.
The fortunes were with Sunderland & massively so , as we outplayed them over both games & came away with nothing to show for our efforts.
I truly believe that if the boot was on the other foot , you would hear them crying from Cov !
You were outthought both games. As for outplaying us - you mean we gave you the ball for 75% of the match and asked you to break us down. you made a bad job of it. Don't blame us for your inadequacies.

What do you want us to do - put the ball in the net for you?

you were the ones with the best heading record in England - and yet ironically we won the game with a header. you were the ones who had a monumental record scoring after 75 minutes yet we were the ones who scored with the last kick of the game.

We essentially played you at your own game.

I'll say again - playing defensively throughout football history is a tried and tested method of success by some of the all time great managers and there have been plenty of accusations of anti football - usually by the losers.

Let's see what Wembley brings.

You had 210 minutes to beat us man - and you couldn't do it.

Not Coventry's finest effort and probably a couple of games for you to forget.

Anyway the game is over and we both move on. We will see you again either next season or the season after.

You mean you had 75% possession in both games and promptly lost because your players couldn't score goals and couldn't defend properly.

You thought you just had to turn up to win - that much was obvious.

Sunderland are seemingly shite - well if that's the case it doesn't say much for CCFC does it? Imagine being beaten off a shite team.

Le Bris out thought Lampard - its very, very simple.
