I think there's an argument to be made for playing at home first leg being advantageous (for ourselves anyway).

We are particularly strong at home, but our away record is poor. We're coming off the high off a strong home performance, and a big win. If we take any lead into the second let, then we can set up to frustrate and play on the break, with Sunderland having to attack. We should also play with more freedom at home without the second leg pressure.

Away first would have more likely resulted in a loss due to our poor performances away from home. Putting a lot of pressure on us in the second leg to go all out.

I think the 4 goals in 10 games is the most concerning stat for them.

A lot of that gap they had was built up earlier in the season, though, when they were genuinely flying and at one point looked a contender for automatics. They've fallen off a cliff second half of the season, they were just miles ahead already.

There's something to be said about a team just lacking motivation though. Nothing more motivating than a chance at promotion to the top tier.

I don’t think it’s something you can drop and pick up at will. Our team is battle hardened and we’ve finally removed our major handicap, being Collins.

I've always wondered if away second leg is actually an advantage.

Sure, you get to play in front of your own fans in the pivotal game but surely there is an issue not knowing where you're going to be playing and have to make arrangements for an away game and a new team with very little notice.
