Magnum in sunny Leamington last Monday. Grand slam in sunny Bilston this Monday.

Given Phil Lynott died way back when and Grand Slam never released an album, dunno what this is all about... but intend to find out!

Just Godiva this year.

Usually quite excited (last year Buzzcocks and Fun Lovin Criminals), but this year, Boomtown Rats, Scouting for Girls and Charlatans.

Not too fussed about the Boomtown Rats ( a few great sings, but mostly meh) and I know nothing about Scouting for Girls at all.

Went to see Peter Hook and the light a couple of months back. They were pretty good and did 2 New Order albums straight through. Got tickets to see Sleaford Mods and I'm really looking forward to seeing the Charlatans at Godiva this year.

Saw Manic Street Preachers at the Genting Arena a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Supported by the Editors too. Got the ticket for free off my old man who couldn't go unfortunately so took the missus and had a very enjoyable night. I don't know what they were like back in the day but they certainly put on a strong show.

Definitely get the meeting your heroes concept, but they were almost apologetic thought saying they hoped they didn't ruin people's past experiences of their music. They didn't need to do that though, as I thought considering their age they were top notch.

saw manics in warwick uni students union bar as they dropped their fist punk album, was about 200 people in there. quite proud to have been there at the early stages of any big band , hate the commercial stlye they switched to afterwards tho
i saw jay z as 1st(of 2) support artists once, out on stage at 7.30 in quarter full venue, who knew he'd become the best at what he does

I could cope with that... if they hadn't spent so much time railing against the commercial bands in their early days!

Used to go so much in my younger day. Remember going to see King, ok not exactly BIG, in Kenilworth and it was fantastic. About 50 people came and they even did punk covers. PS I saw Sex Pistols in Brixton, Green Days in Tokyo and Foo Fighters in Seoul. But King was best

went to see jake bugg last night, was fantastic
but
i saw libertines a couple months back, pure rock n roll, drunk, staggering, playing music when they shouldnt, missing out songs, that kinda thing, a total mess but brilliant

jake bugg was just so methodical, he drank half a pint in the whole time he was on stage, he started promtley at 9, and played all the hits etc with minimum gaps between songs, like perfection
hes in his early 20's but is as rock n roll as a sausage roll, if you get my meaning

live a little dude

I've saw the Libertines a couple of times and they've been brilliant.
I've also seen Babyshambles and Pete Docherty solo and on a couple of occasions it's been an absolute car crash.
Saw Carl Barats band, Dirty pretty things? And they were just boring.

The Saw Doctor's were a great band - saw them in the early 90s a few times. Brought the Town and Country Club house down one night. They weren't quite as good once one of the main song writers left (he won the Irish Lottery - true story)
