Whats gigs are we going to/or have attended lately?

I seen Yo La Tengo at Warwick Arts Centre on Monday night. Did a lot of cover songs. Very good indeed.

Likewise.

I've seen a few comedians (is that classed as a gig) but nothing music related.

Saw Leo Sayer at Godiva a few years back mind......

Quite like Yo La Tengo. Gideon Coe always plays them on 6Music. Missed Johnny Marr at the Roadmender in Northampton last week - great venue, and apparently he was very good.

Going to see U2 on Thursday at the O2, Not seen them for 28 years. Looking forward to the music - not so much the speeches though!

Apocryphal story, would love it to be true.

U2 playing a gig in Glasgow. Bono starts clapping his hands..

Bono - "Every time I clap my hands a child in Africa dies"

Voice from the crowd - "Stop clapping then you c**t".

Yes - I have heard this one, and wish it were true (didn't John Bishop us it once?) - I expect Syria to get a mention or two.

Ther quite a few that i've heard that i would love to be true, but probably aren't unforyunately.

Pia Zadora(a very pneumatic "actress"), who married a billionaire and got in some films he financed, apparently once played Anne Frank on stage.

Apparently when the Nazis stormed onto the set looking for her, the audience as one shouted "She's in the attic!".

Joel Douglas, the less famous son of the actor Kirk, was performing at the Comedy Store and getting increasingly frustrated by the audience reaction. He started shouting: "You can't do this to me, I'm Kirk Douglas's son!" At which point some wag stood up and said: "No, I'm Kirk Douglas's son." Then someone else stood up, and so on.

Saw the Shedders 4 times back in the day - great live band. Spot of Pulp was always in order, as well as Echo and the Bunnymen.

Saw Muse last month in Manchester. Not bad, but definitely not as good as they used to be. Surprisingly quiet too.
