Actual if you read Boris’s column the Monday after the referendum you would have thought that we were heading for Norway+. That’s when Gove turned on him and put his name in the hat for the leadership contest forcing Boris to pull out. Then again Boris is a hard leaver now whereas Goves view has softened. Trying to second guess what Boris would have done is an exercise in futility. He changes his mind with the wind.

No the question was who’d do a better job. The point is either of these two wouldn’t have lost a parliamentary majority which is the biggest single issue regarding negotiating weakness.
Davis is dim and cautious and wouldn’t have called an election. Johnson probably would as he’s a risk taker but would have crushed Corbyn easily - before you start spinning around I’m afraid people don’t mind old Etonians as PM. They also vote on personality - a large majority would have meant any deal posed would easily have sailed through. A small majority and europhile sheep like Soubrey would be less brave.

Making a broad assumption that multiple new parties would spring up.Because people never thought that was a possible coalition. If there was PR the options would be greater and you would knowingly vote for an ERG or momentum party. Now you vote for Conservative or Labour and end up with groups within the party pushing through things you don’t like. We should have had 10 green MPs according to PR. Rather have had a coalition with them than Victorian religious fanatics.
