Successive governments have been Londoncentric, and the elite (including key Brexiteers) have little regard for the normal people.

However amongst everyday workers there’s also a lot of poverty in London, but it overwhelming voted remain, oh yeah, and I’m pretty sure it gets a lot more immigration than a village in southern Leicestershire and other areas of the country. The areas in which a lot of these people live are going to have a lot of poverty too and not enjoy the riches of the capital.

To try and blame it all on the EU is insane, even after Brexit it will continue to be that way. If you think Brexit will correct that then you’re off your head.

Oh yeah and I see you’ve managed to slip I a suggestion that immigration leads to higher crime - nice

It is like giving turkeys an option on Christmas.

1. normal Christmas. Die at Christmas.

2. postpone Christmas until Easter. Die at Easter.

3. Vote vegans into government. Not die at all.

Answer:
Fxxk vegan snowflakes. Fxxk project fear. We’re turkeys. It’s Christmas innit.

Bias media. Now get a neutral farming expert on. Rees Mogg, Farage or someone from the low tax alliance to say that it’s all Brexit bluster. John Redwood will tell you we’re revving up the economy and everything is great. Wave the trucks in and out and pocket the 39 billion we owe. Look what you can buy with 39 billion... just walk away and no one will notice.

( Advice/ disclaimer: don’t try that with your mortgage or overdraft).

Access to the SM and CU, frictionless trade, a place at the table in European matters. Note to Astute: the „table“ is rhetorical.

The vast areas of the country which have been fxxked over have been so by our sovereign parliament. Pretending that we are not sovereign and it is all the EU‘s fault is a really dim way at looking at things.

The EU actually funded poorer areas such as Wales. Who stupidity took your view and voted leave. You can’t make this up.

Heard on the radio that crime in Hamburg, where I am now, is falling in most cases. Sexual crimes have gone up though, only very slightly. If you choose to believe the right, I am in a Islamic hell hole.
I think, no proof, just a feeling, crime will continue to rise in the UK ( it is rising ) because of the hatred and frustration caused by the country having been split by Brexit. The economy will take a hit which will add to this. Hope I am wrong.

Await condemnation and infantile attacks.

What a moronic thing to say. Just read it again. Because someone ( me ) says „don’t know“ you say I am a „fucking moron“. „Don’t know“ is a pretty neutral stance, but in Brexit Britain it earns an insulting rebuke. This is how low we are. I blame the people pushing Brexit for creating this climate. If we had not had a referendum we would have been a leading economy in the world and in Europe. The discussion for the Daily Farage readers would have continued about curved bananas etc, and the adults may have been trying to deal with the running problems of the UK.. But, no, nothing is getting done and no one knows where or how this unnecessary journey will end.

The massive reduction in police numbers doesn't help if you ask me though some say it has no baring, in which case why not do away with police altogether?!

Project fear again

No-deal Brexit ferry contract scrapped

The funny thing is that it was sold as a brexit contract for a British contractor. The reason why it’s been scrapped. It’s Irish backer has pulled out. We’re really doing our best to mitigate any losses the EU may occur from brexit by dishing out contracts to EU companies where possible. Blue passports, emergency shipping when will we ever take back control.

From some not all but I understand the passion. At my church we have put an installation up and we are being encouraged to stand in the gap and seek to bring reconciliation to the splintering this has caused our society. I have really struggled to accept that people are ok to have different opinions to me and hold them strongly and to discuss their merit rather than to seek to win an argument or personalise those disagreements. You guys have helped me with that so thank you. But and it’s a big but. If you know more than me and recognise the damage that will be done or is being done then I totally accept why it’s more than just a discussion and becomes a passionate debate that has to be won at all costs. Including relationships.
I fully agree.

I always thought that the idea of a debate was to look at the truth and not try to hide the truth. Some people seem to think that if they can win an argument on here that Brexit will be cancelled.

The future of my family depends on what happens....or doesn't happen next month. We are ready to go ahead with a property purchase in France. It includes a business for the wife which would be passed onto the kids in less than 10 years. I want remain as much as anyone else on here. As I have also said many times our plan has always been to tour Europe on retirement. That is planned for 8 years 9 months when our youngest is 18.

But none of this means I can ignore what is going on. I have to look at the whole picture. It will be a massive move for us. I am staying here. I would be flying out frequently. I have to consider much more than in or out. I need to k iw about my pensions. I need to know that my family can stay after investing a fair bit of money in an area of France that isn't doing well as it is where we want to be. I need to know the French economy isn't going to get worse. I am slightly worried on how the EU is going to do with the main countries looking like they are going into recession. But when I mention it on here I am just trying to make everything look bad.....

When you are young making a move isn't such a big thing. You still have many years to put right anything that goes wrong. But when you are at my stage in life you have to consider much more. If my finances take a hit now I won't have time to replace it. And although I have older kids and grandkids I also have children at junior school. I have to plan for the future. I can't put their future or my future at risk.

So yes I do look at everyone and every side closer than most. I don't trust any of them. What have any of them done to gain my trust? It amazes me that in 2019 we can have so many people in many areas of authority that have dodgy backgrounds and a dodgy past.

Marginals is all about retail politics, like locals are all about potholes and bins.

Right To Buy was a masterstroke for that, especially in a housing crisis. Labours always been poor at the Middle England retail stuff. Blair got it. Check the 5 pledges: smaller class sizes, more police, better NHS. That’s the bread and butter.

Today it’d have to have something about immigration, housing and as always the NHS. Problem is Labour did so badly at countering the “Labour crashed the economy” myth, that they can’t credibly promise spending increases, even though post Brexit (or any crash) that’s the same economic policy.

Minimum wage, ZHC, identity politics stuff isn’t going to win an election. But the Tory lie of “give our mates tax cuts and magically you’ll be better off” always does :/

And yeah, the state of all the Tory “rebels” voting record is shocking. Cameron just taught them how to put on a veneer.
The Tories have always been the same and will never change. The problem is that many working class like to see themselves as middle class. Middle and upper class vote Tory whatever. Then you have those who remember what happened each time Labour were in power. This is the Bliar years and the 70's. It is only those that have done badly out of life that really notice how bad the Tories are for the majority.

The knife crime has largely come following Blairs open door immigration policy. It mainly started with black gang members stabbing other black gang members in London and now it's become a wonderful norm amongst some of the City yoof to carry knives for both crime and protection. Great innit. Globalisation has led to a lot of the poverty and crime andaindeed homelessness ,we've just lost too many manufacturing jobs to the Far East. I agree with Clint on the decimation of the police numbers too.
