No it isn't. Free movement of EU citizens is not the same as free movement of muslim non EU citizens.

By saying 87,5% I am implying 12,5% voted for AFD. They have come out of the shadows because of the propaganda and fear mongering going on especially on the internet. CA have explained how you do it. There were always 5% + supporting right wing extremist parties. Now they are in the limelight and have used the effects of the Syrian war to frighten people. Has all been done before, but I thought we had moved on.

You are the ones claiming that the EU is not democratic, whilst ignoring the fact that the UK has not got a perfect democracy, and is probably not as democratic as the EU.

We have moved on that’s the problem. Their vote share is increasing and are the official opposition in Germany. Act now else they will increase again.

At least Teresa May is an elected MP voted for by actual people who she serves. They can then get rid of her if deserved. We agree the House of Lords is a joke.

Who voted for juncker? I didn’t and you didnt.

Juncker is not the PM of the EU. Juncker is the head of the EU civil service. He was appointed by elected heads of states ( 26:2 ) and confirmed by a majority of elected MEPs. Did you vote for our head of civil service or our chief negotiator from the civil service? No, of course you didn't, but at least Juncker was appointed by an electoral college and a parliament.

Yes, as usual you have. Of course they/ you could have by not electing a pro EU government years ago. You could have voted for the NF, BNP or something similar. Unfortunately for you, nobody apart from them and the extreme right wing Tory backbenchers, was on your wavelength. The fact that people voted knowingly for a pro EU parliament for 40 years showed consent or indifference. We could have left years ago if the majority had wanted to. Nobody did, until the internet and youtube was kidnapped by the right wing, and you guys fell for their bile and organised, ruthless - see C.A. - propaganda.

We had no choice to vote for a pro Eu Party you clown.

The only person falling for something is you.

The socialist party, the communist party, McDonnell, Corbyn, Nellist are all opponents of the EU And hardly fall into your idiotic right wing mantra.

I honestly believe McDonnell has become more pro EU in recent years especially after reading the Yanis Varoufakis I linked earlier in this thread.
I don't think Corbyn has had any such change of heart.

but he's only talking about respecting the result there. I voted remain but I expect the result to be respected.
I disagree about exactly what leaving means because I don't think it was ever clearly defined but there should be some parting of the ways.
It would be political suicide to try and overturn the referendum.

Wait until whatever deal's agreed, is agreed.

It might all look very different in six months' time.

Once everyone votes down whatever deal is agreed in parliament (even if it's a decent deal!) then it'll have to go to the people anyway, won't it.

(As we've been promised more democracy, I'll be all for our Brexit which removes our head of state and upper chamber, in return for more democratic alternatives)

Fortunately parliament is not single issue, as you accept yourself.

Still, fun as this endless cycle of nonsense is, I'm feeling far more entertained atm by the concept of diluting words when describing salt of the earth characters, so we'll pick this up next time it comes around

Did you see the genius protest? Rees-Mogg and his Tory cronies were stopped from boarding the protest boat as they hadn't booked with TFL to use Westminster pier.

Farage did get on the boat and dumped a box of haddock into the Thames. Apparently we were promised in the referendum campaign that we'd leave the Common Fisheries Policy in 2019 but its going to be 2021. Don't recall that being a major issue at the time.

It gets even better. Farage was on the EU's fisheries committee for 3 years. In that time they held 42 meetings. He turned up for 1.

I mean years ago, if people were aware of how FB uses their data and the tracking it does of that person, I'm sure more would leave it. If a platform is free like that then the users become the commodity.

Was one of the reasons I left (along with it wanting to re-unite me with an ex girlfriend however much I said I didn't want to befriend her, nor her new husband!)

Read that about the fisheries commission before. If I was being cynical I’d say he was actively doing everything he could to stifle reform for political reasons.

It's all been out there for those wishing to do a little bit of research but I think most are pretty ignorant about it. I got it in 06 and left before the end of 07!

I'm also very suspicious of Google and think their long-term aim is something akin to the film the Circle. They are already in the initial stages of moving towards being the sole provider of information online but it will take decades.

The internet has helped people find out what the truth is. They have found out how much the EU costs us. You say it is a small amount.......but 3 years of payments is a massive amount you say

Then they found out that most of the money put into the EU each year goes to landowners. They found out that billions are lost to fraud.....but the money keeps flowing the same way. And they have also found out that amongst other things that the so called experts that have said that brexit would be a disaster are wrong more than right. And so far it shiws them to be wrong yet again. House prices were supposed to plummet. Unemployment was supposed to soar. Inflation was supposed to become uncontrollable.

Propaganda? Are you looking in the right direction for it?

The Internet has helped us find out the truth? There is so much fake news online! I could setup a site next week claiming that the EU costs us 2p a year and then do a few unethical marketing tweaks and get to page 1 before getting the website blacklisted after a couple of weeks, yet in that time millions could have seen it.

Look at all of the harvesting of data in the Brexit and Trump campaigns!

So out of what I listed is fake news?

The only fake news was what the so called experts came out with. And anyone making out that Brexit will be a disaster or will end great are just using another version of fake news.

Which site has enlightened us to how much the EU has cost? Was this a neutral website? The last time I checked on my tax letter it was something tiny compared to the rest of the tax I pay, unless the government have been telling lies about that as well?

I'd personally prefer to listen to academic experts than the likes of that chancer Farage. Gove's comment about how "Britain has had enough of experts" was ridiculous.

A mate of mine regularly likes and shares pro brexit groups and posts. They’ve all got generic names like “out means out” “I voted leave” and variations of that theme and he believes everything that they say without question. He shared one the other week that claimed that no deal was the best deal as the Germans would be paying eleventy gazillion a second (slight exaggeration but you get the point) of import tariffs on BMW’s and Mercedes cars. I pointed out to him that the clue is in the title and it’s the importer who the import tariffs not the exporter. He wouldn’t have it. Fake news through Facebook and he bought it hook line and sinker.

Even the fake fake news gets mistaken as fact. Again on Facebook, different mate now ex mate who was sharing loads of photos of Muslim looking men apparently landing on the European coast claiming to be refugees but apparently really IS fighters. Anyhow, Britain Furst (a Britain first parody) put a picture of Ice cube holding an AK (album cover I believe) next to a picture of Ice cube in a canoe (taken from the film up the creek I believe) piss taking saying look at this IS fighter posing with his AK and this photo of him arriving on the coast of Greece. Anyhow him and more racist he knows believe it was a genuine IS fighter, trying my best to be a mate I pointed out it was Ice cube stop being stupid and got bombarded with abuse from his mates and less so from him. I explained to that it was Britain Furst who posted it and not Britain First at which point he unfriended me. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

On the subject of Facebook and pro brexit groups anyone else noticed a growing trend of some of them moving away from the brexit movement and starting to morph into anti Muslim movements? Pretty clear who’s next, once they’ve dealt with the Muslims it will probably be Hindus and Sikhs next. Some people aren’t happy unless they can focus hate on something as their main purpose in life.

If there’s more bad brexit news (and let’s face it there will be) on the way another area of the public sector will get a pay rise to bury the bad news. There’s no magic money tree and all that.
