So. Global Britain would have had a better trade deal with Canada if we’d remained in the EU.

I guess this could mean the end of the Bagington development.

There's nobody lined up to operate a gigafactory at Baginton, never has been. This is all about making money off the land. What odds on a change to the planning to allow housing or some other use once the airport is no longer operational.

If you look at this article the potential JLR gigafactories it lists are Redcar or Bristol, no mention of Coventry. I would say its a surprise the council have fallen for this but sadly its not.

The build over The other side of the A45 was never intended as a production facility anyway. The idea was that it was meant to accommodate all employees - before I left the plans clearly were to move all Whitley and Gaydon staff onto that side and all R and D at the actual Whitley side

Now there is no requirement oddly post Covid due to hybrid and wfh arrangements so it’s completely without purpose

Slovakia labour force is massively cheaper than the U.K. - I wonder why

Out of 2000 ideas from the people that voted for it they couldn’t even muster a top 10. If this is the cream you can only guess what the other 1991 were like

Brexiteers give Boris 2,000 ideas to obliterate EU rules

FROM fracking to super powered vacuum cleaners, the British public has handed the Government 2,000 ideas on how to reap the benefits of Brexit and get rid of hated EU red tape.

Even Daniel Hannan is now advocating remaining in the Single Market in some form. Hannan was one of the founders of the vote leave campaign.

To be honest, it's a bit concerning and we have a government who seem more interested in continuing to perpetrate the lie that everything brexit related is going smoothly instead of dealing with the issues surrounding it.
The planned cuts, or should that be fucking huge planned cuts, to the civil service will only make things worse.

But I also like seeing people who 'knew what they voted for' getting exactly what they voted for.

The reality is we need more civil servants not less. We’ve still not taken back control of our borders as we don’t have enough customs officers to do the checks, HMRC is looking for compensation for the infrastructure the government made it invest in ahead of brexit that is now sitting unused due to the staff shortage and the fact that the government keeps postponing brexit because as the minister for brexit opportunities confirmed it would be an exercise in self harm, that’s JRM admitting that brexit is an exercise in self harm, also handing a trading advantage to the EU as our exports are subject to checks on entry to the EU whereas EU goods enter the UK unchecked.

You know we’re getting to the point of being beyond denial when a dribbling right wing brexit paper like The Express starts running headlines like this

Brexit fury as European wine on price hike by as much as £1.50 a bottle | Politics | News | Express.co.uk

A BOTTLE of European wine could be more expensive by as much as £1.50 because of the additional paperwork and charges to import in Brexit Britain, according to a Welsh wholesaler.

Surely the people wanting to campaign for change would be those that voted Leave and have got precisely none of the benefits they were promised

No of course not, but if they had more than a couple of braincells between them they'd be pretty furious at not getting any of the benefits they were promised.

But no, keep on blaming Remainers and the EU.

Exactly. Not sure why that's beyond comprehension for Grendel.

At this point Leavers have to admit one of two things:

1) They were lied to/the government has not delivered what they promised

or

2) They willingly voted for this shit show, knowing it was going to be this bad

If they can't admit either of those things and genuinely think Brexit is going well then they're just totally blinded by the cult of Brexit (or a bit thick).
