I’m sorry it’s so confusing for you to have your own ridiculous statements quotes back to you to show how you flip flop depending on what suits the situation.

At the end of the day there are equal & opposites making millions out of the EU - perhaps more discreetly at present...hence people possibly such as yourself lap up the lovely warm feel about it all. Give it at most another 30yrs & you will be fuming at the EU takers in the same way you do the tory/hedge fund/banker/upper-middle-class/etc types you appear to so despise of Britain at present

The projection in this post.

There’s three types of people making money out of the EU: land owners that pretty much everyone agrees needs reform, grifters like Farage who refuse to do their job and set up their affairs to swindle as much as they can, and business that trades with the EU.

God I wish some of you could step outside the UK for a bit and see how the rest of Europe sees you as a bunch of looney conspiracy theorists.

But I’m sure it’s a coincidence Britain has this weird view of the EU when it’s had 40 years of right wing press printing proven lies about it and other countries haven’t. After all, no one is influenced by the media and billionaires run loss making newspapers out of the goodness of their hearts, right?

I've said on here before we basically have choice between 2 types of neo-liberalism, I happen to think the global neo-liberalism of the EU is the least worse option of the two.

I don't do emojis. I don't need a gimmick like some do.
You're not getting it are you? You bang on about the brexit vote being essentially the older generation. The older generation aren't influenced by targeted advertising etc in the way that younger people are. They've seen it all before.
I'm sure you know everything about everything compared to me but you're forgetting that one very basic fact.

I’ll give you a good example. I have a cousin who is a highly intellectual guy. Straight A’s at A level but joined the army in preference to university. Worked his way up the ranks and then left to join what was then the RUC, took voluntary redundancy as part of the measures to cut RUC numbers in the GFA, joined the Met and after many years serving in London has just retired at 55. The guy is a genius (especially history and specifically military history), he’s well traveled, has lots of life experience in many walks of life. He also has a Facebook account and because of his connections to the army, police force, his friend group related to this and his interest in military history he seemed to have become a target for Cambridge Analytica during the referendum campaign. Most of which he ignored but he latched onto something claiming that the EU can force us to join the Euro and voted leave based on this information. To be honest I was staggered when he told me because he is one of the most intellectual people I know. He was unaware that we and Denmark have vetoed out of ever committing to join the Euro. Simply because he’s a member of groups on Facebook that are loyal to the crown. He’s somewhat red faced now but you’re talking about a proud Protestant man from Northern Ireland who has served queen and country in the British forces, the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the London Metropolitan Police Force and the thought of losing the queens face of our money was enough to push him over the edge. Ironically things like they took away our blue passports he knew was bullshit but through targeting campaigning they hooked him in on 1 “issue” that in truth wasn’t an issue. He deeply regrets his decision, he’s just retired back to Northern Ireland and is now facing up to the prospect of a united ireland and ironically adopting the very currency he was duped into voting a certain way to avoid.

It works by targeting messages to selected people through appropriate media. An example was the remain campaign targeting of the message every household would be £4,300 worse off a year which was a complete fabrication

Anybody joining after 1999 IIRC has to make a commitment to join the Euro but even then only when and if they make the criteria. Us and Denmark has an opt out but if we leave and then rejoin we’ll lose that but even then Sweden who doesn’t have an opt out had a referendum on joining and it was rejected, from what I understand the referendum is legally binding under Swedish law and this has negated them from ever joining. It’s a lie that resurfaced last year on Twitter and was even retweeted by Esther McVey who once it was explained to her was nonsense she took the tweet down and did an enormous portion of back peddling claiming that she knew it wasn’t true and trying to explain what she did mean by retweeting it.

Boris isn't the person to take the UK forward. But the one thing about him is he is at least trying to bring an end to this bullshit. It is the vast majority of parliament that is holding everything up. And as long as everything continues to get voted down we will be stuck in limbo.

I have totally had enough. Something needs to happen. So what is on the table?

Leave with a deal? Nah we don't want that.

Leave without a deal? Nah we don't want that.

Another referendum? Nah we don't want that.

Another GE? Nah we don't want that.

So what do they want?

the deal he's put forward trashes workers rights. I think if that gets amended, (as it should in my opinion), he'll get more support.
I have doubts as to whether Johnson wants any amendments because he appears to be trying to make sure it doesn't happen.

At best he is NOW trying to bring an end to it because he got the top job. Before that he was causing as much disruption as anyone. Had he lost the leadership election he'd almost certainly still be doing it.

Even then you can question how genuine he is in getting in done. He got a second reading and then went for a speeded up process, despite anyone with half a brain knowing it would be rejected. So when exactly that happened what did he do? Threaten to pull the bill. He wants an election instead, knowing full well he'd enter it as either someone who got Brexit (well Brexit stage 1) done or as a victim who'd been hampered by that nasty parliament.

I'll say it again - he does thing that he sees will benefit himself. Anyone and anything else is irrelevant.

Both sides used the same tactics. Are you going to mention what the other side said now?

Didn't think so.

The leave voters can't have a job because they were supposed to lose it if we voted leave. The leave voters can't own their own home as house values were supposed to crash. They couldn't have been worried about war as Cameron told them about the rows.of gravestones.

Was the economy predictions just wrong or lies? If just wrong the same people have predicted what will happen if we leave. Yet it is spoken as though they will definitely be right this time. But they are frequently wrong. They didn't even see the last recession happening.

So Junker has said nothing wrong but someone you like to disagree with has for saying exactly the same thing?

The one good thing about leaving the EU would be not to be ruled by those like Juncker. As you will know it is what I have always said. But look at it on here. They either get defended or their comments get ignored. All leaders want to take power back off them. But they will never relinquish their power. They constantly make it stronger by promoting those who will continue the same even if they are not allowed by laws, rules and regulations set by the EU themselves.

Shall we go back to what I said and what I have constantly said?

He isn't the person to take us forward. You don't have to explain to me what I constantly say.

So who would you say is trying to do something about the situation that could bring an end to it?

It seems that you and others would be happy for this to continue for years as long as it means we are still in the EU. But even they have about had enough. They want this agreement pushing through or a GE. It looks like that is why they won't give a decision yet on the latest extension.

Parliament has about 70% remain 30% leave. A GE would be a chance of correcting this.

To me this is the problem. Parliament don't want what the public wants. But parliament are there to serve the public.

The difference is they are supposed to do what is best for us. But that doesn't come across well when they act worse than children in a playground.
