Despite what’s reported on Facebook the EU isn’t a dictatorship. It’s not Junkers decision to make.

Exactly. He’s just posted a video on Twitter and it seems “Boris’” deal is a little too much like Norway for his liking.

Not even if Parliament were to pass a motion that the result was legally binding?

Interesting. Motion just passed that removes time limits for discussing bills and allows more than one amendment to be added.

Filibustering or genuine attempt to ensure debate? What happens if they’re still debating on the 20th and neither a deal has passed nor an extension requested?

I read an article not that long ago on why the profession of stand up comedy is almost exclusively a left wing profession and it turns out that the further right you are the more likely you are to be miserable, angry and hate filled. Hate obviously not a quality that lends itself to happiness.

Don’t think they can. Can’t bind future parliaments

Why? It's not in Juncker's say so - it's down to the European Parliament and just a month ago they voted 544-126 to offer one if requested (which by law Alexander has to do if the deal doesn't go through Saturday).

Juncker can advise the parliament to reject an extension and force through no deal (which he and the EU don't want) if that happens.

81-19 voted in favour of offering an extension 30 days ago so shouldn't that be representative of the will of the EU? I'm surprised you think such a massive swing is feasible given 52-48 three years ago is still representative of the 'will of the British people'.

Disagree with your last sentence. Many comic greats were apparently grumpydickheads.

There is no deal agreed until parliament has voted on and agreed it, I wouldn't get too excited about what Juncker has said. If Parliament rejects the deal under the Benn Act Johnson must seek an extension. The EU cannot refuse an extension and cannot remove the UK against its will (its will being the Benn Act).

Did a quick google so no guarantee but this came up from full fact.
A UK referendum will only have the force of law if the Act setting it up says so. In practical terms this would mean someone would be able to go to court to make the government implement the result. The Alternative Vote referendum in 2011, for example, was legally binding in this way.

So I guess that means another referendum could be made legally binding then.

Dunno. Stole it off a mate when I was about 15 on AOL and kept it ever since. Just a name that’s easy to remember and never taken on websites really. My mate wasn’t too happy, but ah well he got over it.

Apparently it was as in “it’s me” sort of smushed together. Also the first mate of Captain Hook I think? As I say it’s just tradition for me now. Most sites I use my real name now, it’s only really here that I keep using it, which is ironic cos it’s only here that people know who I am IRL.

Absolute bollocks.

Comedians are nearly always neurotic, angry people. Unless Miranda and Michael McIntyre are your idea of a comedian.

I think you need an element of self depreciation as a comic that many on the right lack.

You won't see anyone remotely right leaning on mainstream British TV and that's not because there's no funny non lefty comedians, they're just not allowed on TV. What they are fed on TV is what constitutes who is funny or not to people like Skybluetony.

British comedy is dead anyway. American stand ups are far funnier.

Remain has a far bigger chance under a Labour gov tbh given that the policy is to give people that choice.

LD policy is revoke without any further voter input, not a vote winner for anybody.

Labour would have a much better chance with someone else leading the party.

Christ almighty.

You know the Japan trade deal has REMOVED 99% of tariffs that were previously levied on Japanese imports to the 28 members of the EU. The UK is going in the other direction.
Can you work it out for yourself or don't you want to understand?

Japan has tariffs removed fr8m what they sell to EU countries. This means they don't have to make cars in the EU. So they pull many thousands of jobs out of the EU countries.

The UK like you say would be going the other direction. So this means if tariffs were introduced it would be cheaper to make many items in the UK.

One of my favourite comics is Geoff Norcott. A Tory boy and ardent brexiteer. Also a regular on the Mash report, question time and very recently did a special on Brexit, also on the beeb. Not sure what you’re watching but you seem to be missing a lot.
