I still think we should stay in the EU even though we have found out how crooked those who run the EU are. But I am like all the leaders of the countries in the EU and want change. And it isn't going to happen when thise who run the show don't want anything to change other than a firmer grip.

Only for the rabbit in the headlights.

It is a change of huge magnitude, one which happens every few generations or so. Like last time was probably when we joined the EEC. Requires a change in mindset. Change being the key word. Too many people are spooked by it.

Everyone is a rabbit in headlights due to the limited information the government has been able to provide. I feel you’re drastically underestimating the magnitude of the step change. This isn’t a little blip business will quickly adjust to.

This time last year you & ypur mates were moaning because there were none. Now we have some you trivialise them. It is a gradual process...it takes time. These deals are proof that they can & do & probably will continue to happen!

The bloke you mention didn't qualify or quantify the 'easy' thing either. Fact is there are deals done, & others in process.

You just keep on crying in your sangria though. Others who you revel in ridiculing as being incompetent are in the meantime getting on with the jobs in hand.

But the trade deals that have been sorted are trivial and no replacement for what we have. How do you expect people to react? We were told they’d be done over night and not a gradual process. Presumably some people voted leave on that basis.

I'll dumb down the questions for you then.

What borders are they that you keep mentioning?

We will have a trade deal with Switzerland. Switzerland are not in the EU but have a trade deal with the EU. What kind of border is there around Switzerland? What will happen to the goods from the UK to Switzerland?

North Korea? I see you are struggling a bit now.

They’re trade borders. Did that really need explaining to you?

Ooo Switzerland. The great cuckoo clock famon of 2019 has been adverted. Someone give Fox a knighthood. What about the other 58 countries he hasn’t got a continuation for? The goods from the UK to Switzerland (a land locked country in the middle of the EU) are going to have issues if they go by road for the simple fact they’ll have to go through an EU port. Maybe we can do an airlift. Brexiteers love a WW2 analogy, they can call it the Bern Airlift.

More so now than pre referendum. The uptake of Irish passports not just from Northern Ireland but the UK as a whole has grown dramatically.

Which ones specifically are you talking about? You’ve only mentioned Switzerland by name and as I’ve already pointed out to you they have a free trade agreement with the EU and a series of bilateral agreements.

He was supposed to have arranged the continuation of 40 EU FTA’s covering 70 countries before we left in March this year. He failed completely, pure and simple. Regardless of what you voted that should be acknowledged as it doesn’t just effect those who voted leave. If you feel the need to not criticise this failure you’re clearly in brexit cult mode mindset.

Are you aware of something called the Good Friday Agreement? It’s a legal document that we signed and is ratified by the UN. What next? Brexit the UN so Irish passport holders have to join another queue at the airport.

Amazing how the argument has changed from “there’s no need for a border” to “it won’t be us putting one up” to “we can put one up when we’re ready to”

Sums up the entire debate. Deny, deflect, move the goal posts, repeat.

Most were born in the UK, educated in the UK, only ever paid taxes in the UK yet to travel to the mainland of the UK we’re going segregate them at port. Great isn’t it.

To find a way they have to accept there’s a problem and solve it. Boris and gove are just saying there’s no problem as they won’t be introducing a hard border

Well that's a very thorough, considered and well-explained solution.

Or to sum it up "we'll wing it". Great way to consider something that had a history of decades of unrest, military presence, terrorism, murders and people scared to leave their homes. If we do what you're suggesting people WILL die in the unrest that follows.

Come on mate, try to use the power of positive thinking. Bedsides, all of the benefits will be well worth it if that happens anyway.

The ugly face of sectarianism may have gone from the shop window but it was kept in the stock room by some, the referendum has put it back on the shelves in the shop, leave without a deal and it will be back in the shop window. It’s already rearing it’s head again in traditional flashpoints as we’ve seen all over the summer with rioting and shootings including the murder of a journalist. The worrying thing is that it doesn’t seem to be the aging hardcore sectarians of the 80’s and 90’s that are pushing it, it’s largely what’s known as the peace generation. The battle lines are being drawn in traditional flashpoints make no mistake about that. It’s OK though because Boris isn’t erecting a border apparently so there’s absolutely no way that the tools of terrorism will ever get into that area of the UK known as Northern Ireland.

When I go anywhere in the EU except elsewhere in the UK - I have to show, or at least be ready to show, my passport.
There is no difference.

If it wasn't for the kind of positive thinkers that showed perseverance & patience throughout history, the moaning neg-heads such as yourself would not be enjoying many of the things you readily take for granted. Even down to the keyboard you spout your negativity on!

Your approach however merely serves to satisfy & pacify & thereby encourage extremist & violent behaviours to get what you want.

So the noisey &/or violent &/or extreme minority win the day. That's a healthy view of how things should be.

No. I'm saying that bombs and bullets will be the result of the ballot box with the dismissive way too many are considering the NI issue.

When we joined the EU it was the positive thinkers suggesting so. Less chance of war, greater competition through open markets resulting in bigger improvements, cooperation in science leading to advancements and in policing reducing crime. The 'moaning neg-heads' were those telling us to stay out because it'd be terrible for us.

So for you the moaning neg-heads were right.....
