The end of October threshold (1 Viewer)

I guess a few of you like myself also think that the league starts to take some shape by the end of October - early leaders fade away and the most likely teams start to emerge - it’s looking good for Cov to be in at least the top 6 if not top 2 by October end - we make it to Jan in the top 2 and it makes an easy transfer window to recruit as well . So Nov and Dec are now the key months for us - we need to make progress look easy like we are doing

I said at the start of the season that 10 games in would be a good indication of where we're at. Worst case scenario, we're 2nd.

So I'll take that.

And with the bank of next games, I'm quietly confident. I say quietly. I'm in the mindset of winning every one now!

And I've got my ticket for the Pompey match...we owe them for last season at FP. It wasn't an enjoyable day to live down this way.

Whilst of course I love our start, we have not played a lot of the top teams yet and that will truly be a barometer if we are a legit title/auto contender or not and the rest of October on the face of it, is not that difficult either just due to their positions in the table. 12 points is attainable in the next four but I do think we will lose at least one of them. Not being dramatic haha, just realistic.

Regardless, unless we totally fall apart the rest of this month, come November 1st I do think worst case, we will at least be second.

That is my point - you say we have not played any top teams but come the end of October some of those teams - including Leicester will be Top six - look at QPR now 6th

Pretty sure we’ve played teams who are currently:

3rd
6th
8th
14th
15th
19th
20th
22nd and
23rd

so probably right

Well yes, but just up to this point we techincally have not but regardless I do concur that the fixture list in general is only going to get tougher. Need to beat who we are supposed to beat for sure.

Think November and December will tell us the most TBH. Playing Ipswich twice, Stoke, Boro, Preston, Southampton, Bristol. Lots of top half and parachute teams. If we’re still there about a afterwards then it’s a great sign. If the wheels are coming off that’s when it’ll happen IMO.
