I've heard bonuses have been doubled until end of season so we win and sell season tickets.

Fans over estimating the team's ability and convincing themselves promotion was a certainty has also made the slump appear bigger than it actually is.

Only 6 wins alongside 11 defeats since November is a huge slump mate.

Wasn't it that the club were no longer paying bonuses.

Don't know what the situation was in the past but no bonuses are payable now unless we had managed to win promotion
This might be part of the reason the senior players targeted by TM didn't come

Isn't that just because we stopped winning games?

Exactly how it should be, most people don't get bonuses for doing their job without actually achieving something.

It seems that Juggy was right though, something was happening with the bonuses. Itckearky was cost cutting as it is mentioned in the accounts about how much it has saved.
Just hope it isn't correct that it happened whilst we were flying high at the top of the table

Just say on Twitter it's true and some will fall for it and swear it's true.

I agree, footballers shouldn't get a win bonus, after all they shouldn't need incentivising
To do their best when they play, however the reality is very different.

The flip side as shown in this thread some seem to have the ability to say that things are categorically not true. Yet they never seem to be able to substantiate how they know it's not true.
So we had a rumour categorically ruled out on here by the 'experts'.
Now the accounts covering that time period come out and say savings made as a result of restructuring of the bonus'.
Guess you see both sides of it in this thread

That would certainly account for the saving due to restructuring bonuses

I know it's haver going to happen , but I believe all footballers should be on a basic wage ,
( depending on what league there in )
And then on top of their basic wage they get a win bonus ( for every one that plays in that game )
And the higher up the league the team finishes the bigger the bonuses,
And then you could have individual bonuses for man of the match ,
Bonuses for a player who's performance ratings our 7 and over ,
Bonuses for a player who scored a goal , the more goals , ie a hat-trick the bigger the bonus ,
Bonuses for defender's who don't concede a goal in a game ,
Bonuses for the goalkeepers who don't concede a goal in a game ,

It's based on the Sun's fantasy football !

I think it would concentrate there minds to put in a good performance EVERY WEEK !

But like I said it's not going to happen .

Clearly there was a change to the bonus structure. It's in the accounts.

The usual suspects on here were very quick to shout about Juggy being a bullshitter when he repeated what he had heard about the players' bonuses being cut. Another clusterfuck by SISU but certain posters on here will do all they can to deflect blame away from them.

That comment is extremely low and in bad taste I'm afraid, imo it should be removed from the thread

Personally I think they should get a basic salary. Say £250/wk. Then focusing on the league - if they play in the 1st team they get an extra £100. If the team wins another £100.
Then every 3 months - in automatic promotion slot...get an extra £2k. Play off spot £1500, top half (outside of play offs) £750 - below that nothing.
End of season 1st another £2k, 2nd £1500, win play offs £1k lose nothing but the basics above.

Think they might be better off non league and a salary from a regular job according to that model bazza.
There's a reason every kid aspires to be a Footballer and it isn't to receive the same as you would for flipping burgers.

Do the timeframe's match up here as there's two instances where player bonuses have been talked about. One was Fisher openly stating he was looking to change things as players were getting bonuses for failing. I've no problem with that.

It was later that the idea the players bonuses had been cut came about. I find it hard to believe that players are not receiving what they are contractually entitled to without a peep from the PFA.

Did you ignore or miss the 'Say' bit? It's the proportions...they were easier to highlight than saying stuff like £737 type nbrs. Although a quick calculation in my head has me wondering where you can get that kind of money flipping burgers? Please advise me - I'm in!
