The ‘wobble’ month (1 Viewer)

It seems to me this would be the time for it. Congested and difficult fixtures + our squad depth being tested with injuries already.

I think the real test is not it happening but how we react to it. If we can get to 50 points by the end of the month, then we’ll be in a good position to add some recruitments in January.

If we do have a poorer run, I think it would be accepting our promotion tint is going to be a lot closer than people think. It won’t be fatal, but just a case of embracing and dealing with the pressure.

It’s going to be close, I can’t see us just walking the league with games to go

50 would mean 7 points from 6 games. Difficult month or not that would be a big disappointment.

Someone worked out 1.57 points per game from now on should see us automatically promoted.

Thats around 9.46 points from these 6 games.

Therefore 9/10 points would be what I'd like.

Thats either 3 wins or 3 wins and a draw.

Possibly 2 wins 3 draws and a loss.

I don't think it's going to be close confident not bragging.
As for this month if we win our home games that would put us on 52 anything away would be a bonus.
Everyone on here is bothered about the Ipswich game they have only won 1 of their last 4 at home we have won 3 out 4 away pressure is on them

I think this month actually works in our favour. We've built up a huge lead going into it so couldn't ask to be in a better position. Some very difficult games but so were Stoke, Middlesbrough etc. We will lose at some point but they will be fearing us more than we fear them and id much rather be playing them now than in the final few games of the season.

Get these out the way, and we are into January where we can add to the squad, have BTA and others back by etc. And then in the run in all these difficult teams have to come to the CBS fortress.

If we are serious about this season we need to be winning every game.

True, but we can comfortably lose up to 11 more games and still get promoted

There seems to be a lot of pessimism about our forthcoming fixtures .
We are leading this league by 10 …..yes 10 points & have already racked up 50 goals … so the shitting themselves & being hopeful of just a draw against us , is from every team that we now play .
Standards have been set & Frank has turned our players into a championship winning team ….. nothing more , nothing less , so let’s enjoy these next bank of wins .

Crazy when you think we've just won 11 out of 12. And we have 28 games left to find potentially 13 more.

I swear if it doesn't happen for us this season I will need to find a new hobby because it would just be too much for me to deal with.
Agreed

It would be a tough one to come back from and I don't think it would be as simple as moving on once new season starts

Don’t forget, we traditionally have a slower start to the season. So it’s only going to get better.
I think 59 points at the end of the year. I know I’m being pessimistic but for some reason, I think Bristol City will hold us to a draw.

I’m not sure what we have done traditionally really has any relevance to how we do now? I have the same feeling about Bristol City. Just an annoying team.

We’ve been through worse. Honestly nothing can top the despair of 16/17z
That season was irrelevant. We'd been on a decline for at least 5 years and relegation felt guranteed from August. I was borderline immune to losing back then.

Now we're brilliant and seem nailed on for returning to the promised land after 25 years. To end up not doing it......I can't even bare thinking about it.

This is exactly where my nerves are coming from.

It's not that I necessarily think it will go pear-shaped, but the knowledge of just how awful I know it will be if it does is terrible.
I'd have to deactivate my Twitter account for one with all the bookmarked tweets ready to come back at me. Even I'm starting to hate me for my current social media arrogance.

Nah, that season I honestly thought the club was going to liquidate. Not getting promoted from a clearly strong position wouldn’t be as bad as that.

I agree-it’s Hollywood or bust as there will be a few departures I would imagine if we don’t make it. The likes of Wright/Rudoni/Milan/Rushworth et al will be a tough ask to replace.

5 of those games are against the top 6, 3 against parachute clubs. And we are cursed at Preston. Disappointing but not inconceivable.
Only 2 of the games this month are against the current top 6? I see why you'd include Ipswich, they'll probably be top 6 by the weekend, just about (although this would still leave us playing only 2 of the top 6, albeit Ipswich twice, so 3 games). We've beaten 2nd, 3rd & 4th, all away, by an aggregate score of 9-2.
