More like the room is rented out so much they don't have time to clean it, so you pay good money but the bed still has dodgy stains on it and the Mini bar is empty.

Don't believe they are getting excited at all just proving that sisu were full of shit as usual and how others actually believed this spin?

Should tell them all to go now, but depends on the contracts I suppose.

At the end of the day they can't be blamed for getting as many people in there as they can, it is just business.

Where I fault them for it is by trying to play on the fans with the whole heart felt stuff.

If they has just done it without all the press games, then fair play.

By press games I mean the stuff put in the press specifically to get to the fans. "We stand by you on the terraces, we live next door to you, we love the club". I mean all the emotional crap when CCFC moved that was done to play at the fans, nothing else.

Of course it is just business, so if they hadn't given it the "For the people" shite you couldn't really fault them for moving on could you? Don't play on the emotions of fans when we moved away, to just move another club.

I don't think it was just business either, I think there was an element of politics. SISU represented the bullying classes with their secret investors, high flying lawyers and devious management charges on the club, the Tory boys and girl from the City if you like. Thing is, the Labour council had the whip hand and possession and possession is 9/10th of the law as they say so they decided to pull together and freeze the bullies out. Problem is in spitting in the eye of one bunch of sharks they may have just sold 50% to another and much now to the chagrin of many people in Coventry who support either or both of CRFC and CCFC !

Nothing to do with party politics Ashdown. The conservative councillors were just as aware as the labour ones of sisu's game.

Fisher was the one that tried to make out it was party political, that was one of his arguments for the JR.

Didn't joy use the "my beloved sky blues" line in her LR exclusive when no one was even sure what she looked like due to her noticeable absence and took the club away to Northampton?

That one smacks worse than anything any of the other parties have said to the press. It was like the husband who only beats his wife because he loves her line that wife beaters use to justify their indefensible actions.

Yep, that sort of shit is just as bad. Leave the emotion out of it, it is business. Don't give it that shit, just get on with it. You don't look so silly at the end then.

Was it this one?

We are also disappointed that Cllr Lucas is using the Judicial Review application as an excuse not to answer questions. The application relates to a very specific area of the law and need not prevent the council from answering many of the perfectly sensible questions which fans are asking. During the initial stages of this process, the council, ACL and Walker Morris continued to make media statements and appearances. There is never any legal bar on the truth. We cannot believe that the council’s lawyers would ever advise Cllr Lucas that speaking the truth could prejudice any legal process.
And we’d still like to know the real reason why Cllr Lucas authorised ACL’s rejection of the CVA which cost “my beloved Sky Blues” another 10 points.

That reads like it is taking the piss out of Lucas?

I don't doubt some on SISU's side are guilty of it though

Ah, nice to see Shmmee having a nice little WU. And completely missing the point as usual. ACL/Wasps are the owners of the football stadium and can lease the pitch out to whomever they wish to. If that damages the pitch for the main tenants then that seems to be an unfortunate consequence of all those matches.

A nice little diversionary tactic from Shmmee and "the usuals", I see. Now, if we owned the stadium I would imagine that the pitch wouldn't be leased out so much and would be in better nick. But no, we don't and never will own it, will we?

Torchy you are missing the point. Sisu have just one aim in life--to make as much money as possible out of their venture into the football world.
If they owned the stadium and their brains could have worked out the revenue benefits of renting out the ground to other teams,
then teams from every conceivable sport would have been calling the Ricoh home.

I would love to know about owners who DIDN'T want to make money.

Agree withvsecond bit anc sadly the chance is gone and its primarily a rugby venue.

This is from elsewhere on the web but I thought it sums the CCFC situation up perfectly. Perhaps if they had speculated on the stadium in 2007 then they would happily be doing this for years to come .

"Hedge funds often buy companies and seemingly run them into the ground. What they are really doing is leeching out capital through expensive loans and other financial sneakyness. The cash all gets spirited out to hedge funds through loans, derivatives, advisory fees etc. and leaves shareholders with nothing."

I've heard a rumour that come December it may be "Goodnight City"

Yeah, could be.. not a lot of forward planning seems to be going on.. but I'd be surprised if December is when plug is pulled, after all there is the Jan transfer window & there will be some players that will raise cash.

Id sooner that than pay SISU £2M a year.

I take it by 'we' you mean Sisu/Otium?. Because I'm sure if Wasps didn't step in and buy then Sisu/Otium had an offer all set up and ready to go so 'we' could own the Ricoh.........

They had nothing in place for the Ricoh from what I have heard they have not even made an offer for the Higgs half, people are kidding themselves if they believe we would have ever owned the Ricoh or any other stadium while they are in charge. I believe it is now getting closer to Bye Bye Sisu.

We can only hope and pray (if you're that way inclined) to the last bit of what you said. You're right too about us never owning shit with Sisu/Otium in place. I like the way some people on this forum moan about Wasps jumping in like they gazumped Sisu/Otium.

They offered £5.5m in June 2012 but later revised it to around £2m. Read the court transcripts, dear.

I have dear.

The 5.5m was an agreed price for Higgs where it was agreed that SISU would go into partnership with CCC. No veto was used as all sides were in agreement.....until Joy decided to offer the payments over 10 years with no guarantee of funds. When this was turned down Joy said that the arena was worthless but she would give Higgs 2m as they are a charity. Judge Higgingbottom pulled her up on this. After these offers were turned down it became all about the freehold or nothing.

You would know all of this if you had read the court transcripts dear.

If you mean that they were willing to pay them money for the stadium instead of paying their legal team to try and get it cheaper then yes they gazumped them.

Sisu is saving us

I stand the camp that all parties have fucked up, all are only in it for themselves and it's only the fans who actually care.

I've never once made a silly graphic loving sisu or done or said anything close, yet people who have now throw crap about

I stand by what I said ... At the time.
The dodgy graphic was a wind up that obviously worked.

Love it how you and Grendel have the ability, and the time, to dig up anything from the past to help your case in the current situation.

Most people supported SISU at the time they took over because to most of us it saved us from administration, apparently a fate worse than death at the time.

Looking back and knowing what I know now administration may have given the club more options. Particularly in picking a suitable owner.

No, "we" to me is Coventry City Football Club. But yes, I take your point. I would rather SISU owned 50% than Wasps 100%. I still think having a slice of the pie means we will get rid of them quicker.
