Nothing to do with new signings, tactics or whatever.

It's surely to do with whether Allen and / or O'Hare are playing in the team?
Think more players in midfield in general allows you to move the ball quicker with the right players

Last season though, Wrexham was a fine example. We were slow, pondorous, until Allen came on. Similar this season, when he came back into the side we looked a lot sharper and quicker.

Now last night when we had both he and O'Hare, we had proper zip.

And both have played with five at the back and wingbacks, both have displayed during their time at the club that they make a big difference to how we play as they bring the energy and one-touch that others at the club just don't.

The tempo stays high as none of Allen, Sheaf, Sakamoto or O’Hare give the ball away much allowing tempo to be generated.

Slightly tongue in cheek, but only having 4 players at the back rather than 5 inevitably means less options for ponderous passing play ( generally to McFadz and back again, repeatedly) and more players in midfield to play quicker, shorter passes between.

The game is certainly more pleasing on the eye now that players are back and the ball is not going back like a few games ago.

I don't think it's the personnel - we played at a slow tempo with Allen in the side earlier in the season - it's a change in formation and change of play style.

Allen, ohare and now sakamoto all get around the pitch quickly, link midfield with attack and technically good. Definitely helps with tempo

Since O’Hare and Sakamoto have come into the team more regular our pace going forward box to box has gone up significantly and we are better for it.
Need more from the strikers.
