Tavares to Burton Completed (9 Viewers)

He was a weird player, he was a very good finisher when he got in the position but then other times he would look a bit like an excited puppy who had been let off his lead.

Think there was a cup game he scored a couple as well.

Hopefully he does well for Burton and gets a good run of games.

This was actually a decent first touch and goal.

Not sure how it's agreed or moved as he was out of contract anyway?

Always be remembered for that Preston goal!

Probably just Burton trying to make it sound better. Presenting it as signing a player from a championship club rather than an unwanted free agent.

Wish Fabio luck, he looked like a headless chicken to me most of the time but seemed to have a great attitude. And did have a knack for finishing and strangely crossing at times. Could do alright in L1.

Good luck Fabio. Thanks for that sub appearance against United. Ran rings around them.

Yeah agree, always looked a bit inexperienced and too eager to impress but then was never going to get the game time needed here.
He'll always have the good cameo and assist at Wembley against Man United as well.

Good luck to the lad. Seemed like a good finisher but was never really played up front, not that I think he was ever going to get up to Championship standard. Grateful for the Preston goal and torment he caused Man Utd.

Probably the biggest discrepancy between what he did on the pitch and the song he got of any player.

Good luck Fabio.
I will follow your progress with interest. You seem a really nice guy who has had some bad luck with injuries.
You showed your capability against Man Utd in a massive game and loved your Preston equalizer.
Really hope things work out for you in the future.

It’s amazing what people come up with sometimes.
Well we've agreed a transfer that allows him to become a Burton player as soon as possible, instead of him joining as a free agent at the end of his contract.

That suggests something has been added to the deal, and we know it wasn't a fee because neither team's statements mention one.

So I am speculating as to what that something is - and the most likely would be a sell-on percentage.

I doubt it very much, they'd be no incentive for them to agree to it.

Playing a game there next season.

I'm really happy for him. He should have 1 or 2 loan spells in the past instead of keeping here on the bench never playing. He's probably 2 years behind on his development than he should be for his age. Hes got some good attributes, he can finish and is quick.

Or they are just taking on his wages for the last month...

Otherwise they would just wait a month I doubt they were competing against a massive hoard of clubs.

Unless we made that our 'loan fee'. I'm sure I read somewhere there was an option to make the transfer permanent, which is strange if his contract is expiring. So they got him as a cheap loan with the option to sign for free but as we loaned him on the cheap, we get a minor % sell on fee, say 5%.?

There may be some money due to us and Rochdale (where Fabio started his professional career) for player development. We signed him shortly after his 20th birthday.

I wish Fabio good luck, I hope he gets a load of goals for Burton.

Looked like he'd won a competition to play on the pitch most of the time, but wish him nothing but good luck. Will definitely be keeping an eye out on how he does
