Maybe they agreed to pay a small fee so they guaranteed they got him
Not sure how it's agreed or moved as he was out of contract anyway?
Always be remembered for that Preston goal!
That was my nephews first game, crazy last 10/15 mins of I remember, took the goal really well too

Probably just Burton trying to make it sound better. Presenting it as signing a player from a championship club rather than an unwanted free agent.

Or it could be us saying "no fee, but stick a 10% sell-on in there and we'll send you a loan or two as a thank you"Maybe they agreed to pay a small fee so they guaranteed they got him
He was a weird player, he was a very good finisher when he got in the position but then other times he would look a bit like an excited puppy who had been let off his lead.
Think there was a cup game he scored a couple as well.
Hopefully he does well for Burton and gets a good run of games.
This was actually a decent first touch and goal.
Think its a good move for him and probably about where id put him in terms of his level which is still a great achievement in life

It’s amazing what people come up with sometimes.Or it could be us saying "no fee, but stick a 10% sell-on in there and we'll send you a loan or two as a thank you"
Well we've agreed a transfer that allows him to become a Burton player as soon as possible, instead of him joining as a free agent at the end of his contract. It’s amazing what people come up with sometimes.
I doubt it very much, they'd be no incentive for them to agree to it.Well we've agreed a transfer that allows him to become a Burton player as soon as possible, instead of him joining as a free agent at the end of his contract.
That suggests something has been added to the deal, and we know it wasn't a fee because neither team's statements mention one.
So I am speculating as to what that something is - and the most likely would be a sell-on percentage.

Unless we made that our 'loan fee'. I'm sure I read somewhere there was an option to make the transfer permanent, which is strange if his contract is expiring. So they got him as a cheap loan with the option to sign for free but as we loaned him on the cheap, we get a minor % sell on fee, say 5%.?I doubt it very much, they'd be no incentive for them to agree to it.
There may be some money due to us and Rochdale (where Fabio started his professional career) for player development. We signed him shortly after his 20th birthday.Or they are just taking on his wages for the last month...
Otherwise they would just wait a month I doubt they were competing against a massive hoard of clubs.
people are hinestly just weird when it comes to making things upIt’s amazing what people come up with sometimes.
