Somebody mentioned Reg Matthews - This guy arguably is the most successful Cov lad so far to make it big time - He was picked for the full England side 5 times when Cov were a third division side

Wasn't there also a Micheal Nardiello at Man United for a little while, possibly a Shane Nardiello too who played.

Daniel was at Man Utd. Shane Nardiello was his cousin I think, he was ok. Daniel's father was former City player Don.

I went to school with Jack Nardiello. He played for Stoke's academy and U23s then Nuneaton for a bit after getting released. I wonder why he didn't play for the CCFC academy.

Think it was his brother Phil Nardiello who was my PE teacher at Wiseman in the 90’s? Always seemed to be in and around the schoolboys teams and academics etc.

Trevor Peake was born in Nuneaton.
Brian Hill was born in Bedworth.

Also see:
Coventry-born players who slipped through the Sky Blues net
and:
Look: Ten Coventry and Warwickshire sportsmen who played for England
which identifies Arthur Brown as the first Coventry-born player to play for England (in 1882).

Define it for me then. Can I have Matty Blair who was born in Warwick but his dad had shops in Cov?

He's down to just the one now isn't he? Around Coundon, I remember the one he had in Cannon Park too. Got a pair of boots from there once.

I think he owns that and the school uniform shop across the road.

The sports shop at Cannon Park used to be there but they have opened a sports direct inside so probably did him in.
