It's taken a long time to get to that stage with sisu, don't you think new owners would be given every chance to turn us round?

Yeah. Kind of my worry, that we'll accept anybody because they're not SISU.

That said, think I'm getting to the stage where I'd accept anybody except SISU myself. Arms dealers, crack whores, people traffickers... bring 'em on!

If we were still in L2 after 2 seasons we would be back to where we are now and any buzz/season ticket bounce will have ebbed away.

The drop from Championship to L2 is massive and completely game changing for club finances. A complete fuck up from Mowbray, Venus and Slade this season has really shagged us and would take almost a miracle to climb back to Championship. No amount of goodwill to owners can change that.

I'd agree. You'd think though that surely, *surely* we must soon reach a level where even *with* SISU we might win a game or two, though.

And momentum and a promotion would do wonders, whatever level that promotion's at. Hell, I reckon even SISU could get away with a few seasons more if they got us a promotion.

Psychology wins as many games as talent. We aren't set up to win games from top to bottom. Mowbray saw it, Pressley saw it, Slade sees it. We are dropping down the leagues because we're a basket case from top to bottom, that ain't going to change any time soon. Culture comes from the top. There is no "finding our level", we are a losing club through and through.

I don't disagree with you, and of course that's why we kept losing when we dropped out the top flight, but nonetheless there comes a level where, whatever our issues with 24/7 revenue our gates hold up. When we came down from the top flight we were one of many in that category with that fanbase, and even in this division we were only amongst the Sheffield Utds and Bristol Citys. Go down to Division 4 and you know what? For once we might actually be up there with Portsmouth as the big draw.

Now of course the downside of that is that everyone else tries harder against us, but if (and I appreciate it's a big if, as we didn't do it after our to previous relegations!) we got off to a decent start, then we might have a fighting hance of breaking the 'same old Cov' hassle. In fact that's where Wembley could come in handy. If (and yep, big if!) we won then even though it's a nothing cup, it starts to show we can win the important games, gives us something to point to.

So... however disastrous we are, you'd hope that we must be close to a position where our fanbase is big enough to override other factors. If it's not to be, might be better we went down again quickly rather than hanging around, and losing half of them so we end up at par again!

Agree with you NW about the effect that a promotion and/or a win at Wembley could have. Any sort of success would surely put some wind in our sails (the first half of last season showed that). It would then be up to whoever is in charge to build on it, rather than letting it all slip away through the kind of blinkered penny-pinching and crap PR we’ve had these last ten years.

The question i would like to know the answer to is can you continue with jr2 and not own the company,

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW? Clown

The JR is about a specific set of events involving specific interested parties during a specific time scale so yes they can continue with it as they are one of said specific interested parties. Continual ownership after the event is neither here or there as I understand it.

If we we're still in league two in two years time under new owners that would most likely be a league or two higher than we would under SISU in that same period. This decline under SISU is speeding up if you didn't notice.

A friend who has an executive box at the ricoh has said to me he has heard a takeover in principle has been agreed.
Before anyone asks, Im not naming them and I dont know who they have heard it from. I also dont know if there is any substance to it. However, me and my Dad have had a season ticket for many years (bar Northampton season) so the club means a lot to my family. Therefore, i dont believe he would simply say it to me as a wind up. He says he has heard it from someone who is within the club. However, I accept this could still be an untrue rumour but he isnt the sort of person to spread rubbish.

Again this is completely unconfirmed. I have 0 proof and I don't know who the source is. I am merely passing on the information I've been told to fellow city fans.[/QUOTE

Although I would like to this to be true it's just another feel good rumour.

Who in there right mind would want this nightmare?

Didn't Fisher state that Sisu will not sell the club. He's repeated it numerous times. And all rumours of takeover/offers were just that. Sorry if I have dented any hopes, all of us want rid of idiots Sisu, I just keep hearing Fisher saying 'we are not selling'. So for any deal to take place Sisu have got to be willing to sell. I don't think they have quite finished with us yet. Sorry

The only glimmer of light to the prospect of a takeover is according to Simon Jordan he was apparently given a price albeit in his word from Narnia land but nethertheless a price this hasn't been denied by sisu or Fisher, which to me indicates they could sell.

Please don't shoot the messenger,

I asked one of the players if he'd heard anything about a takeover from the inside and he said "it's all gone quiet" was talk around Christmas time but nothing materialised.

A) please don't ask me to name the player, for understandable reasons.

B) Of course why would the players know any more than us, they are usually the last to hear stuff so make of this what you will.

I'm hoping Simon Jordan is negotiating with Sisu to try and get to a realistic figure for his consortium to buy the club

Because Coventry City are not SISU. It isnt Coventry City who have taken the Council and soon to be The Wasps to court. SISU could still continue a court case without Coventry City surely.

The JR2 court action has been bought by various SISU companies trading as Coventry City.

SISU pull the strings, the club is run on their instructions.

Knowing our luck it will be a consortium led by Fisher - that rumour was doing the rounds a couple of weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it was based on the lads staying up so hopefully we have fecked that one up.

I think they would need to invest in Div 4 and accept that it's gone, then re-invest money we gain as we climb the leagues.

I suppose one good thing is that investment required for good div 4 players is far less than investment required for good Championship players.

Prize money for going up "should" go a long way to strengthening as you rise.
