Not dissipated my anger that's for sure. If anything its worse!

Am I the only person that has worked for many people who behave exactly like King did last night. Pushing out people they disagree with and blaming everything that's perceived to be wrong on the person who has left while claiming everything they've done themselves is fantastic?

Really surprised me how many people are happy to just accept what King has come out with as 100% fact without any right of reply from Viveash or Robins, both of whom are most likely unable to give any response as part of their exit agreement.

Ultimately for me even if what he is said is the absolute truth he's managed the situation appallingly and that gives me concern for him running the club moving forward.

Its not difficult to arrange an exit for Robins which doesn't throw him under the bus and shit on everything he has achieved, it happens all the time. Could have waiting until after the Sunderland game and had a mutual agreement / gone as far as he can / personal reasons or any manner of other things along with a glowing statement from the club, highlights of what he's achieved, a leaving message from Robins wishing the club well in the future, give Robins his chance to say goodbye to the staff, players and fans etc etc. This was not the way to do it.

Laughable that King claimed he wouldn't speak to anyone before firing Robins out of respect, yet had been waiting to fire him for months, and was quite happy to spend an hour disrespecting him on the radio.

Why would Robins agree to a "mutual agreement" and a statement saying he's gone as far as he can?

I'm sure Robins believed he was still the man for the job and could turn it around.

Same goes for leaving message etc, the man was sacked, I very much doubt he would've been up for doing all that after being (as he would see it) unfairly sacked by King.

People need to live in the real world. Unless Robins did, at some point, decide to step down, his departure was always going to be awkward because there's no easy way to sack a club legend.

Saying King had been waiting to fire him for months is pure speculation, and based on what we heard last night, probably completely incorrect.

Hard to disagree with any of that, Dave. I maybe should have said dissipated the anger from most, if not all, fans.

I'm certainly in the "Don't trust King one tiny bit" camp. The worst part of all this, as you say, is the way he fired Robins and the timing of it all. Robins has given us arguably the best period of success any of us have experienced supporting CCFC. I've been going since 1972 and this, along with 87, has been the most enjoyable time as a supporter. He deserved so much more, but was treated like shit by King. Now, to top it off, we've had all the tittle-tattle from someone who should know better, knowing Robins isn't the kind of guy to air his dirty laundry in public. Pretty shameful episode and I will never forgive the stupid haired twat.

He needs to get this Head Coach appointment spot on. I do wonder what potential candidates think of the way Robins was ultimately fired. Hardly professional, was it?

So my take on last night, I thought the meeting was piss poor, Doug ranted for about the first 13 minutes and took the sail out of most of the questions, I'm sure there is some truth in what went on but not everything. The questions that were asked were in the main pathetic and let Doug and Stone Cold off the hook. He seemed to keep rambling on that he couldn't have us relegated but no-one challenged him on what happens if we are adrift at xmas either with the interim head coach or the new head coach. As for saying if we are relegated we will have zero players, what a crock of shit, I know a lot may leave, but to say the whole squad would be gone, just playing on emotions. As for the deck deck deck, my phone nearly hit the wall, and as for saying we have a quality deck, where was any challenge about the lack of midfield.
Still not sure how I feel after this, I won't be singing DK songs and will wait to see what happens between now and xmas on how I feel about moving forwards

Pretty sure if most people went into a meeting with their boss and were told they were being fired and option 1 was your boss spending an hour on local radio telling everyone you were a prick who was useless at the job and at fault for everything that was wrong or option 2 was we can put out a statement bigging you up and you can say thanks to the supporters who have backed you to the hilt for the last 7 years there's not many people who are picking option 1.

Don't know if it's been posted elsewhere, but snippets from King on BBC TV this morning:-
- "really compact league this year ... I've seen nothing to frighten us particularly"
- "what we need to do now is get stability in"

I agree with his first point, just 3 wins and a draw between 5th and 22nd, or two wins between us and 9th. So I'm not sure why he was so worried that his investment was at risk through relegation?

On the second point, Robins is the only constant in our revival since 2017, so stability for me would not have involved him leaving. Move heaven and earth to find a way of keeping him here whilst still bringing in an elite-level coach. I don't have specific job titles in mind, but a "George and John" type of arrangement was surely possible if the will had been there?

It doesn't stop me having a touch of excitement about what the new guy can do with this squad and a couple of additions. But IMHO we are at more risk now than we were last week, not less.

Robins strikes me as a pretty stubborn guy. I’m not sure he’d be willing to stick around and play nice after being sacked.

On your second point, tbf to Doug, it does sound like this was tried and numerous attempts were made to sign a #2

he made it clear last night that Mark didnt want to work with Adi, so Doug backed Mark, he then looked for a number 2 for months. Still no sign so a decision had to be made

Do any of us actually feel at risk of relegation? either before Mark leaving or now?! not sure i do

Hit the nail on the head here, Dave. Not sure if those that are accepting this are as gullible as heck or they're so used to the SiSu crap that they'll believe everything without question.

I would really love to hear the other side of the argument from either Adi or Mark before making an educated decision on who is telling the truth.

But I wish someone would have asked Doug if a "no comment" clause was in either settlement agreement.

Cwr did ok but I think the best two questions were the ones immediately after the 18 minute monologue that didn’t really answer why he sacked robins but suggested it was because of results and that we had rubbish coaches and not an elite one like adi!

After that we went to questions that has been decided and written before king saying it was robins that got him the sack not king

Talk sport may be interesting if Jordan goes for it and asks follow up questions to anomalies

TalkSport summary.

- Didn't speak to Simon and TalkSport first, gave priority to the fans of the Club.
- Was intense last night, expected the backlash.
- Doug sticking with the Mark and Adi relationship as a contributing reason for parting with the manager.
- SJ: Was Robins surprised when you fired him? DK: He wasn't totally surprised.
- SJ: Results had started to turn, was it wrong to fire him at this time. DK: Looking at 2024 as a whole, not just this season, emphasising the home form this year.

Jordan challenged decision based on recent results
Doug went further back until end of season
We haven't got the same set up from previous seasons when we recovered from a slow start

Put to him he seems disconnected from Robins's choices of new coaches

Re-iterated Dennis's opportunity in the States was too good for him to turn down
Happy to give 4 year contracts to Adi/Mark based on what went on before
When they fell out, ok for Mark to get a replacement for Adi
For whatever reason couldn't get a replacement
Hugely impressive group of players
Wanted support for Mark in that role, wasn't able to provide it

DK: Decision was taken now to take control and try to recover the season.
- SJ: Do you take responsibility for the setup (management team). DK: Dennis left, wanted to return home to nearer his family. Adi left in the summer. Both manager and Adi were given new long term deals. Wanted to give the management team better chips to produce better results, but it couldn't be done.

Quizzed on Lampard

Want to get it right
Agree with fans last night, don't want a revolving door
Taking time to get it right
Got the international break, but if it takes longer, it takes longer

What is the target for the new manager?
We've got to the playoffs from this position before
If you leave it too late and the structure is the same with no improvement, then you've got to make a change

Why though
I don’t understand why we didn’t?
Implied Robins wanted the coaches and that they weren’t good enough as shown by results

Have I missed something? But I haven't read into anything King has said as a criticism of the standard of coaching or the individual coaches.

It feels more like he's critical of the restructure as Robins appointed the coaches but did not appear to want an assistant or arrange them coherently.

There was something that John Dawkins said last night on his podcast that referenced this, about he knew of a high calibre individual who applied for the role of assistant, but it never got to a discussion with Doug King and he didn't know why.

I wonder if maybe Mark Robins had an involvement in the recruitment of the coaches but for one reason did not progress any discussions to a point where a deal could be done, the question would then be why, something only Robins himself could answer.
