@Sky Blue Pete thanks for seeking out fans questions and trying to establish a dialogue.

appreciate that there is little faith that the process would secure candid responses from Sisu via Boddy (that the supporters would trust). But do believe you need to keep at it.

suspect you’ve covered this ground already, but if not…

would like to see a slight change in approach. With the trust surveying it all supporters groups and fans with a well thought out survey. And have this presented in the meeting. To quantify and qualify what supporters believe and expect, in a less heated format.

Perhaps naively I’d hope that a survey could form the basis of a trust or supporters’ mandate. Designed to encourage good fiscal management and transparency by the club, that ultimately changes the dynamic of communication. Laying out clearly what support we will commit to and what is required in return.

Putting the burden of proof on the club’s owners, local politicians, council and businesses to ACT to secure what they need from fans ie. more money, local election votes, use of club advertisers goods and services, etc…

The more reasonable and clearly defined the expectations the better. And then with professional PR and lobby support look to take this beyond our fan base. Give the club’s owners another chance to act in the best interest of fans or Shame the owners into positive action in a much larger public forum.

Well, if you take into account a team in the bottom tier, no real financial assets in the playing squad, in fact no assets at all, they turned down a deal which could have been worth up to £20mill. They stated they had invested £80mill in the club, so im assuming they are looking for an amount which we know is totally unrealistic.

Of course that's not accurate, but you know as well as I do they classify 'investment' as being the funds they put in + any interest they're owed. Which is nonsense.

I could lend Boddy a fiver at 1bn% and claim I've invested billions in the club.

Think the club have been reading this thread and answered (some) of the questions tonight with the club update just posted!

The start of it reads like we’re a plucky lower league club.

Please ask them if, (as theyve stated today) they are still operating at a loss, why are they still here.

Thanks

Exactly: what’s the plan here?

Because from the club statements it seems to be throw our arms up in the air at how unfair it all is.

I'm assuming that they included the 40+mill debt from the takeover in 2007 and subsequent covering of losses to date ( or up to the last offer to purchase).

No total spend has been £32m since the takeover

So as I said, they class the original takeover debt as still owing somewhere.
I'm not arguing for them, only putting their warped opinion forward.

its the debt in SBS and L so the group debt is at something just over £50 million

So knowing sisu as we do, that is what they would want, and probably a bit more. If you add on the slight possibility that the stadium lease may become available at say 30mill, I can't see anyone willing to shell out 80+mill for the club. Can you ?

a lot of that is manufactured debt but they don’t want to sell. It’s a never ending cycle

That I can agree with. Unless it's a ridiculous offer they are quite happy to trundle along, dragging me behind them.

Well right now I expect relegation and ultimate stagnation in the lower half of L1 rattling around a ground we don’t own and can’t fill.

In all seriousness, the owners and the club need to realise the fans do not see us as a lower league club having a day out. We expect to be competitive at this level and it’s not an unrealistic expectation considering the size of our fan base.

Bottom 7 budget this year rather than bottom 4. Suppose that’s incremental improvement and yes the meeting had a feel of it’s so unfair and we are doing our best. In a sense I understand that. Without significant investment that is the reality. Unfortunately due to that the club will need to plan for quite a drop off in season ticket numbers in my opinion but let’s see what the season brings and who the defensive replacement is going to be for Dom

The one that surfaced: re willing to sell

basically, do they have the appetite to run a Championship team? Because at the moment it doesn’t appear that way

Yep
Ccfc and sisu have not said the club is for sale
Playing budget increased by 17% this season
Up to bottom 7 budget from bottom 4
Without investment it’s incremental improvement

More I look back the more I think we should have cashed in on Hamer or COH if I am being honest, at their peak value and would have gave MR more movement in the transfer market

For me I think it’s minimal investment from the owner and an overall plan to try and progress
That didn’t come up

Come on - you know that doesn’t work in the championship long term. I’m not asking for a top 6 budget.

appetite is matching the fans - we’ve sold 13.5k season tickets. We’ve high merchandise sales. We’ve done our bit, how about the owners do their Bit?

3 loans and 1 free transfer is not an appetite. I’ve supported the model somewhat, but it’s up to them to put a product on the pitch.

fisher once said “our model wouldn’t work in the championship” - what are we doing to adapt?
