The kid ticket price is scandalous, but the blame for that has to largely be placed at the door of the adults that were taking the piss with concession tickets.

So the only way around it to allow the kids to claim stuff in the stadium to negate the price. Lots of parents talk about needing to feed the kids, so let them claim some free food and drink. Give them a programme for free when they go through the turnstile. Give them a t-shirt or a hat to take home.

Isn’t the Family Zone and all its activities free? In all credit to the people involved and even SISU to a certain extent who gave it their full support I’ve not seen many clubs in the 92 who have a full area dedicated to keeping kids occupied before the match, within the stadium

You choose how to spend your spare time how you like but I genuinely don’t see how any self respecting City fan could spend their time on that forum full of them arseholes making constant jibes about “Jimmy being in a box” and how “The best thing to come out of Coventry were the Nazis”

They a lower than a snakes belly and a set of spiteful cowards and other than Leicester there is no football club or set of fans I despise more, and even with Leicester I’ve at least met some of their fans who are sound

Got to admit have meet many Sunderland fans while on holiday.
I have the same 2 weeks off every year and it corresponds with their fortnight off.
Most say we are cheats believing we are the only reason they are shit most delusional fans out there living in the shadow of Newcastle.
Twice we have played them live on the telly while I was on holiday first time they sent a 7 year old to my table to taunt me and my son who was about 5 himself a bar full of them and just us two City fans.
We won 2-0 think the second goal was a penalty (cheated again) first game of the season early 2000s
Should have seen the bar as we were the only 2 cheering bar a couple of Newcastle fans what a great day that was.

Loved it hated them ever since, horrible horrible fans.

Stupid prices.

Every seat would have been sold in both ends had it been priced properly.

Will still be 24k and a rowdy atmosphere.

Sunderland will sell their allocation in the next couple of days. They took their tickets off sale on Friday and they go back on sale this morning. The reason for this is they go on general sale today

And for those who think we're something special because they don't like us....they have something against just about every club. It's amazing they can still walk with the size of the chip on their shoulders. They see themselves as a top 6 club because of what they won over 100 years ago and their support.

And now they're skint. Owners who won't put money in and very cheap ST's. Their ticket income won't be much higher than ours. And now they have the same problem as everyone else. How do yo get in the top 2 when 3 sides come down each season with over 100m over 3 years.

Some people just don’t get it, the prices really are ridiculous. Football isn’t like a one off theatre show or a concert, it’s a passion , a habit, a religion, something many try and do as much as they can so you can’t just talk about a few quid extra on a ticket. The whole experience has increased in price, whether that be travel , merchandise, F & B. For some it will become a treat rather than a habitual regularity.

The whole point would be to offset the high ticket cost because they're trying to stop adults taking the piss using concession tickets.

I feel that is a big reason why the kid prices are so high and even DK would be looking to make it better VFM. Also, it would be good for getting the kids interested and give them an affiliation to the club. They don't care if the ticket is cheap - they don't pay it. But they'll remember if they got a freebie to take home.

Not all kids sit in that section (those that do get a cheaper kids price IIRC) and although they can still use it I doubt it'd be able to take in every single kid at the game.

Their cheapest season ticket is £420 going up to £800 - they offer an under 22 deal but the pricing isn’t cheap

Whilst thats true from our perspective, ultimately football is a business. and our club is finally being run like a decent one

do i agree with the kids pricing, no.

We've probably sold about 1500 -2000 ontop of season ticket sales .. in all fairness I do agree that the 37 pound plus 25 for your kids is putting ALOT of people off .

Think about it we've only 5000 or so home tickets to sell and should comfortaby shift them , but the pricing is showing that we can't , we sold more for boro on sky .

Doug should possibly reign in his greed a bit next season

His reasoning is probably that if the team does well then people will be prepared to pay high prices to watch. Which for special games like the playoffs is true enough, for regular league games I’m unsure.

We’ve hedged our bets on the season tickets. At this stage, I don’t think we have much core support past the 18,500 or so ST we’ve sold already. Now, only success and big games will draw more support.

We do need a match package offering to cater to fans who can commit to a few games but not all.

This is a great opportunity for the Sunderland fans on tiny points total to build their points up. They cant moan about not getting a ticket to Middlesbrough if they wont show the desire to go to Coventry

That's correct but they have to pay 50 quid for the JSB , so it's technically 17 quid for u14s with a JSB

Not sure they can, but who would object to lowering kids pricing below £25?

Sunderland took nearly 6K to Preston last week I think. If they only bring 2K here it is quite telling.

It is a gamble on King’s part, as really is allowing Robins to spend all of the transfer income. I think if we find ourselves in a playoff chase or better then those tickets will start to shift, but anything less and they’ll drop off.

I see and that makes sense. I would try not to see the JSB membership as only a passport to cheaper tickets as there are over £50 worth of savings on tickets in the welcome pack alone.

Sunderland averaged 2600 away last season , best away support in the division numbers wise , if they aren't selling our coventry then you'd have to ask why

Plenty off grounds have family sections next to away fans without issue including Leicester a few weeks ago.
It seems its only our police and stewards who treat every game as though its bocage juniors v river plate

I’m not convinced that the pricing is impacting attendances outside of individual circumstances/anecdotes to be honest. Realistically, how many more people would come to games?

At 18,500 ST holders, the lowest attendance we’ll see this season will be 19-20,000? Our season ticket pricing was reasonable and selling these out is proof of that.

I don’t think it has anything like the impact a decent run on the pitch does. Or a bad run the other way. We all experienced not being able to give tickets away in L2, and everyone popping up for Wembley tickets at twice the price.
