If EMC is fit he should start and Wright up top. Otherwise, Simms and Wright left.

We'll see how Sunderland want to play it. If they sit back then we should just focus on getting quality crosses in to the box, and you'd hope given our record that Wright, Simms or Rudoni will get on the end of one.

All joking aside Simms does one thing we’re I’d probably pick him. He creates space, most teams look to put two defenders on him, which means we get a lot of free headers.

Looking at Middlesboro for recent example.

If he does play i hope the curse of the returning striker happens for us , seems to happen against a hell of a lot

I think Asante is a situational player, a very good impact against tired legs or teams pushing on as he exploits gaps and space betwee/behind defenders really well.
His movement against Middlesbrough was very good but thats because he had the space to, I think Simms should start and unless Sunderland start coming at us we won’t see Asante this game

These advertising boards?

The Mackems do realise you can curve a run up and that virtually all our headers are from crosses and corners?

Re: all this moving the advertising hoardings to stop VE taking long throws...I don't think it'll make much difference to be honest.

Despite being vertically challenged, I had a long throw on me and was often used the same way in matches. Within 10 yds of the 18yd box and I'd get the nod to take the throw. You only need a couple of steps or you can curve your run up.

I'd love it if we get the opportunity in the first 5-10 mins for one and he launches one in and we score from it. Now THAT would would be good.

I read earlier we've only scored from one long throw all season and the goal scorer was Torp...

It's win - win tonight for me.

Win we go up

Lose - we are not ready anyway and likely to get less than 11 points in the Prem. Better to take the summer to beef up the defence in particular

Will watch quite chilled.

Not convinced at all by Wright up front, especially against a team with a low block.

However it could certainly give O’Nien a bit of a scare after the last time.

Hoping Simms starts up top with Wright on the left - and both actually turn up tonight!

Well yeah he's got to be on the end of our targeting.

Would love to see O'Nien get smashed into/over those hoardings.
